I used to regularly find all 4 types in change but in the last month I maybe have found only a half dozen.

Funny enough, I had a customer pay in rolled coins yesterday, one of them was a solid roll of AU-UNC presidential cents. I of course, swapped it for 50 cents.

In 2009 I found an LP1 and an LP2. In 2010 I found another LP2. About a month ago I found an LP3. That's all so far. Five years four coins.

I usually find several while searching a $25 box. I have multiples of all 4 types picked from circulation and CRH.

I've found a whopping 2 in the past nearly 4 years since that coin came out. I have well over 10 BU rolls of the cabins, about 30 BU rolls of log splitters (we got 4 boxes at my work right when they were released), and a few loose BU prof. life. My guess is that the ebay tycoons scooped them up. I remember seeing boxes of BU cabins and log splitters going for $250-350 with 20+ bids. Couple that with a pitifully low mintage, and there are probably some people sitting on a good 10+ boxes waiting for the opportune time to sell.

I've found about 10 in the last $10.00 dollars worth of pennies I've searched. I find all types and I save them all. I put the nicer ones into 2 x 2 holders though

Wow, I never even thought these 2009 pennies existed! I see plenty of those new shield pennies (weigh like plastic pennies, never seen these. Interesting!

Quote: welder: I rarely find them in change in SoCal. SoCal has been no problem for me. In one box I find at least 5 of each type. Reverse 1, 2, 3, & 4.

I mainly get the Shield cent here in North Carolina. Almost impossible to get any Westward Journey Nickels.

Kind of hoarded is my guess. I never get them in change anymore. These 2009 got me into pennies actually and I've pulled a couple quarts of these from circulation myself. I'm going to go over them looking for errors, and in about 5-10 years I'll release them back into circulation where people who missed 2009 will be amazed to see 2009 pennies in such great condition.
