The dates and mint marks are important on Ikes. Some are 40% silver some have different varieties to look for. A Red Book will give you general idea what to look for. As posted by Jbuck, these a two good sites to explore. The CCF post "Post an Ike" has 103 pages to read so this is your homework assignment at the beginning of the new school year. Due tomorrow! per Mr. JBuck

I am not that cruel. Take the whole weekend if you need it, but your report is due Monday.

Dont Deposit the ones you dont want! Spend them and maybe make the day of somebody Document your doing so in the last page of this thread. (Ikes are welcome there too)

I love Ike's. The sheer size is what impresses me.

Out of your 11 bicentennial's, how many are Type 1 & Type 2?
Sounds like you have about 1/3 of a Dansco Eisenhower Album. Might be fun to put the 32 coin collection together.
Don't forget that the 1973S 40% silver Proof is the lowest minted of the Ike proofs.
I do find it interesting that the Mint stopped making the 40% silver Ike's two years before the end of the series.

I agree with the above post about spending the ones you don't want to keep, especially leaving them as a tip. There's a good chance a young waitress has never seen one and may take it home to give to her kid, which in turn might sprout into a new competitor to our acquisitions.
And if a teller is saving dollar coins for you you don't want to discourage her by not taking ones she's saved, might think twice about saving anymore for you. Just buy them and dump them elsewhere if you don't want them. Next time she may have something really nice.

 I'd personally keep them all.

I had returned all the Eisenhower dollars to a different bank I frequent. Like said above I didn't want to go back to my CU where I got them from. The head teller is very nice to me and she keeps all the unique coins and half dollars for me. As far as I could tell there was nothing special in these dollars.

Keep the Eisenhower dollars, they are beautiful coins with numismatic value. Don't lose them, it's just a matter of $15....

I keep and horde my Ike's, even the ugly ones. I have no problem recirculating beat up Kennedy's, depending on the year. Like Ike's, people get a thrill when receiving these coins as tips.

I can't afford to hoard all the Ikes I get, otherwise I would. :)
