Very, very nice cabinet. I'd love to display some of my stuff like that but I'm too scared to leave it unsecured. But something has to give, I'm running out of room fast.

A lot of my mixed collection of coins and notes is stored in one of these binders. Most of those are in 2x2's in BCW polypro pages. The few exeptions in the binder where the airtight I got them in fit in the square, one Ultrapro baseball card page to store the bulion coins in 2.5x2.5's, and the bills and 1994 mint set that are in curency pages Most of my sliver quartes and halves set is in a box for 2x2's I also have some folders for my monderns, including my wheats. One day, I may upgrade everything but halves and quarters to a proper album or binder, but I'd need to complete some other sets before I do so I have a few things in Grandpa's safe. I ought to have more in there, I suppose, but then I cant look at them. I ought to take a few pictures of my storage solutions and post them here.

@srs77 - Love the cabinet!
I myself am starting to move to Saflips which are Impulse Sealed and then placed in archive safe bags (similar to what slabs would go into). I can insert an acid free card into each sleeve and have a ton of room for information. I also like this as I can store my slabs and raw together in the same storage boxes which fit nicely organized in my safe, which is fitted with a renewable dessicant holder.

Thanks... Wanted one of these for a long time and finally found one. As far as security goes, let's just say it would be quite a job getting to the cabinet to begin with ;)

That's beautiful srs77!
2X2 holders for me, in boxes, in my SDB. I do keep some at home in a very non-descript location. Of course my Large Cent collection resides in a Dansco :-)

I have a variety of things in a large shoebox and some more in a bedside desk. In the shoebox its around 400 2X2 capsules and around 15 ICCS or PCGS holders of coins. In the bedside desk I have all the rolls and some world coins and some other stuff.

is anybody familiar with storing 2x2's in PVC type holders? I thought I might go the archival plastic way but considering that the coins won't come into contact with the PVC I just don't know.
Anyway, who knows of a good place to get air-tite capsules and albums from? cheapest I've seen goes around 58 cents, but I doubt that comes with the original blister pack and if I order the album shipping definitely isn't going to be pretty.

I have discovered that the very thin Mylar sheet used in 2x2's is not completely impervious. I have noticed that in humid climates, the Mylar will stick, and become jammed inside the 2x2 PVC album pocket pages, thus making it near impossible to remove the 2x2 Mylar / cardboard flip.
I assume that tiny amounts of moisture may have something to do with this. The also assume that the slow gassing out of the oily softener used in PVC album pages is involved as well.
I have also noticed that cartwheel red lustre bronze and copper coins in Mylar 2x2's in 2x2 PVC album pockets, will still loose their red lustre over 10 or more years.
For these reasons, I was forced to replace all of my PVC album pages. I now use archival quality album pages to address these two annoying problems.
Archival quality album pages, with 2x2 pockets are made in two types of materials: thick Mylar, and clear polypropylene.
Neither of these materials have an oily softener which gasses out of the plastic from which they are made, and my problems now appear to be solved.
The sooner that PVC album pages, (which use an oily based softener) are banned from the numismatic market, the better. Archival quality album pages are only marginally more expensive, and should always be used.

I store most of mine in 2x2 staple flips with the exception of coins larger than 38mm which I store in safelips. I also have some in Whitman albums.
