I agree with mysterious_dr_x assessment of the situation, though I know neither participant.
I also agree with the posters on Numicanada ,we would be appalled if someone posted a rant in French on this forum.Francophone members here always post to the best of their ability in english.Intellectual property issues aside it was in very poor taste to rant in english on the francophone forum.

For me, it was not the language issue... it was the intent of the post. I am perfectly fine with sharing of research and photos, but putting the date in bold and underlined font, along with a link to a thread that has posts from the same CCF poster, that proclaims that it was put up in another forum 9 months earlier, was just in poor taste in my opinion. Especially if castor already knew that it was independent research.

Why not just state, "Good article. There are additional photos here <insert link> along a similar line of research I have been doing"

It hijacked the intent of the original thread here on CCF... obviously....

Hello

In addition there has written here, "Ty" also wrote this on Numicanada.
6 to 7 years ago I TOLD Castor ( and Louis Chevrier, and others) about the differences of the planchets .

I Showed the cores , the blanks and all other evidences I had.

Castor published MY MY research and data without Acknowledging .

Castor usurped my intellectual property and do not have the bravery to just post something to Reflect That he learn all this from me .

Simple as that .
Hello TY

I became aware of your message when I return to the cottage Sunday 13 October 2013 .

And you continue to tarnish my reputation by continuing to assert that you speak to me in person in the presence of Louis Chevrier and others , explaining your research .

Considering:

You wrote in a reply privately message " Greatgaet " and you gave him permission to post your message on Coins and Canada .

This was done Monday, October 13, 2008 2:35 PM in this post :

http://numicanada.com/forum/viewtop...?f=28&t=4552

Hi Gaetan

I am ... and allophone - that means clustering : both , my English and my French suck

I frequently chat with "Beaver " when we met at Nuphilex - he is a great guy

Considering:

I realized while reading the above that there was a mistake on the person.

So I made a correction Monday, October 13, 2008 7:07 PM to clarify the situation in the same message as above .

Hi greatgaet

I just want a small development for the benefit of all and that there is no misunderstanding .

I do not know what you put in your preamble your PM is Ty , but I feel it took me to "The Beaver " is a very active participant in the forum " Canadian corner (CLS) " and Ty is also .

Considering:

I 've never seen or talked to a salon " Nuphilex " and especially in the presence of Louis Chevrier I met only twice in my life and it was at the meetings of the members of Coins and Drummondville in 2009 and 2010.

Plus I 've never been to a salon " Nuphilex " .

Considering:

I also worked in a study for the two Canadian dollars in general since the summer of 2010 and saw that the party on the difference of two dollars in 1996 " Germany and MRC " was completed , so I answered the questions asked here:

http://www.numicanada.com/forum/vie...f=28&t=18101

For this message the Friday, January 18, 2013 8:25 PM :

http://www.numicanada.com/forum/vie...8204&start=0

Considering:

I became aware of your research for the first time by reading your article in the October 2013 Journal of the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association .

Considering:

You accuse me of plagiarism of your work on the following forums:

http://www.numicanada.com/forum/vie...8204&start=0

and

https://goccf.com/t/158529&whichpage=2

In consideration of the foregoing :

I ask you to recognize that you 've got the wrong person ("CASTOR" vs "THE BEAVER" or other ) and apologize for tarnishing my reputation by accusing me of plagiarizing your work.

PS : The full message is posted on Numicanada and Coin community and family .

http://numicanada.com/forum/viewtop...?f=28&t=4552

Hi Gaetan

... and I am allophone - - " that means: both, my English and my French suck

I frequently chat with "Castor" when we met at NUPHILEX - - " he is a great guy

http://www.numicanada.com/forum/vie...f=28&t=18101

Par ce message du vendredi 18 janvier 2013 8:25 PM:

http://www.numicanada.com/forum/vie...8204&start=0

http://www.numicanada.com/forum/vie...8204&start=0

et

https://goccf.com/t/158529&whichpage=2

To SPP, regardless of the original intent, there were some pretty harsh and in the end, unjustified words/accusations used by Ty.

You will note that my comments only refer to the original post. The subsequent outcome resulted from that, and I am not in a position to say if they were justified or not. None of the fallout would have likely happened, if the approach had been more constructive (as the example I wrote in italics, above)...

There is nothing wrong with parallel lines of independent research, and it can even be very beneficial, if egos don't get in the way...

I'd like to see both individuals apologize for misunderstandings or rubbing nose in posts. (The post that started the whole thing was a rubbing nose in post IMHO) Forgive, forget and move on so we all can continue sharing info.

And in case I offended either or any, please consider this to be my heartfelt apology.

Hello

The following is my conclusion after my commentary in English and translated into French in this post is Monday, October 14, 2013 at 1:11 PM.

My reputation has been unfairly and free dirty by the comments of this person pseudonym "TY ", both here in this post on the forum Numicanada.com

This person has been here on this forum until today Wednesday, October 23. October 27.

Before his silence not to respond to my comment of October 14, "which is his right ", we must conclude that what I wrote in the "considering" was and remains true.

I now consider that it is the person to live with the wrong person, his silence and credibility.

As for me I consider this "saga" finished.

Someone on this earth has written:

" Recognize that we were wrong not to lower but grow."

Thought that accompanies this person.

It is now up to you readers to judge.

PS: The full message is posted on Numicanada and Coin community and family.

Laurent

En français maintenant

Bonjour

Laurent

I wholeheartedly agree. In fact, I agree so much that I'm stopping it here.
