Bekiz if you don't mind me asking, where do you pick up your Pandas?
As my LCS is very limited on inventory. They usually have a few 1000 oz there but, Eagles and generic rounds only so. Online is my only source.

colu41, I buy pandas from coin shops ... ebay ... forum sellers very often I trade or resell pandas so that I am able to finance purchase of another coin As I wrote - I'm not doing it every day as spotting something for less is not easy, but when I have a chance - I grab the deal.

Just got an email from my supplier.
2014 Kookaburras now available, 2014 Pandas coming soon. The 2014 design is a single panda facing forward, playing with a piece of bamboo, in front of a bamboo forest. Looks like a lot of detail.

The 2014 is coming:
"My sources tell me that the 2014 Pandas will be available in mid-October at the Beijing Coin Expo. This is earlier than in prior years.
Best wishes, Peter Anthony China Pricepedia www.pandacollector.com"
Only about 1 week left to buy 2013 coins before the price jump..... I am waiting for a dip (missed that yesterday morning).

I am not sure that the 2013 Pandas will be higher price as the earlier years, higher mintage can bring down premium. Do anyone know the mintage figure for each year, please post it here or a link?

2013 mintage is 8 millions (2014 mintage supposed to be the same). 2012 mintage is 8 millions also (some source said it was a little less). 2011 mintage is 6 millions Here's the link: http://www.silverdoctors.com/massiv...and-mintage/We will not see a large pop in price, compare to such years prior to 2011. However, I've seen the price increase by at least $5 to $10 as the latest coin replaces the previous year coin. IE: Comparing the price of 2012 vs 2013.

Agreed. Crazy I can't pickup a 2012 Panda for under $35-$40

You need to keep in mind , however, that prior to 2011, ownership of silver bullion was illegal in China. The increases in mintages are not flooding the world market, they are in response to about 2 billion new eligible collectors in the Chinese market. To me, despite the increase in production, there are as few Pandas as ever making their way to America.

I agree with denco7 on this aspect. However, that doesn't mean we will see a significant increase in value of the latter year Panda in a few months or even few years.... also, the price in China will probably more than in USA..... because of the simple fact that the US's collector/stacker market is probably at equilibrium. The premium/increase is where the demand is (local China market, if you can tap into that).

well, time to time I sell Chinese numiz on ebay with the mintage up to 100k ... 4 winners out of 5 are from US that's where demand is in general may be for rare coins some Chinese collectors will bid up price to the moon but for average collectible numiz-item the real demand (the highest bidders) is somewhere else.

The 2014 Pandas have been released or at least 200 of them.

I wonder what was the cost at the show? The Panda look a little awkward this year...
Thanks denco7 for the link!

I like the Panda coins but designs like that are why I don't buy them every year. 2013 was much better.

Really ? I like this one. Pandas are solitary creatures. The three pandas last year were incongruous with their nature. On solitary panda sitting , gnawing on a bamboo tree is a lot nicer. Plus the bamboo forest behind him is nicely detailed. I like it.
