I know a person who said they have a 1897 queen victoria crown that is graded between very fine and extreamly fine he is asking £50 for it do you think its worth it ?
If so I will buy it then give it a polish WITH PEEK.

Peek is not an abrasive polish it is made only to remove tarnish it does not scratch any metal.

Baysinger I was talking about copper american one cents that weigh 3 grams it has been known for people to pay over 80 thousand pounds for a rare one but at the end of the day it is still 3 grams of copper.

I wouldnt have paid more that 60 pounds when they were origional, now they are only worth scrap value.

Geepers ... public announcements at a coin forum that a member intentionally cleaned their coins is going to receive some .... ummmhh ... commentary.
I say it's the OP coins ... and if he chooses as he did to throw his money away from the ill-advised decision to polish them ... well ... it's his coins and his lost investment.

241079... Do you watch The Antiques Roadshow? When someone brings in a piece of antique furniture to have appraised. And the appraisal expert explains that the piece has been refinished, and then the expert invariably says something like... "Too bad, with the original finish it would fetch perhaps in the 20 thousand pound range, but now... perhaps 2 grand." Same with coins. Search this coin forum on cleaning AND conservation topics... there are many... Bonne chance!  |
