Actually I think it's very obvious he took the photo with his cell phone. You can clearly see the distinguishing vertical lines that appears on any photo taken of a computer monitor/ tv screen. He did one better than saving the image to his computer and using that.
You really have to wonder what kind of people would actually bid on this

I think he actually meant he took a picture of the actual coin with his phone.

If you have an application that supports drag and drop, you can copy an image to your "clipboard" from anywhere on the web, or within your computer, and drop or paste it into another document without saving to your hard drive. The down side ... is that it always shows vertical biasing, exactly like those images.
The seller implied that he'd taken pictures of the coin that was in his possession, and that the coin shown was his coin. That one's a stretch better than EF ... probably one of the finest known, whihc the coinfacts page states is an MS-65B

Nice catch, it never surprises me the sheer laziness of these scams. You really couldnt pick a much more obvious source then ripping off coinfacts photos. I don't know what kind of computer you have but I can copy any picture on the net to my clipboard and drop it in any program I have and its perfectly copied with no lines.

I haven't tried it recently ... since it used to be an inferior way of copying an image. I've used HP products for more than a decade, a couple desktops, and now a 17" laptop that never leaves the house....but doesn't have a bale of wires hooking everything up.

I asked if the coin pictured is the one the winner will receive last night. No answer yet.
