Any idea what you have into it so far? I'm working on that album also and the only price on there that seems close is the 36d, thankfully. Thats at coin shows though so kind of hard to compare. Still not a cheap page even by my numbers.

I agree with Kanga. Using BIN listings for guidance can be a mistake. If you want to use ebay sales as a guide, use COMPLETED auctions as they will give a better view of 'real' prices. Along with the actual sales price, don't forget to check on how many bidders there were, as that will let you know if a coin is 'hot' or not.
I'm hoping you can find coins to fill those holes at half price or less than you listed. Hey, at least you got those '32 holes already filled! Good luck.

No, you just need to avoid completing it with AU+ coins!

Guys, I sell on ebay. I know how it works. As I said, the prices are simply an illustration of how expensive the coins are. BIN prices are a guideline. And also note what I said. Lowest price of a coin AU or better *that I would actually WANT in my album*. And half those prices? Hardly. Those prices are right in line with retail values. And actually, that 34D was an MS coin and MS60 retails at 225.00. So he is already selling it at least 80 bucks below retail. I really don't think anyone is going to sell an AU or better 34D for 70 bucks. If they do, they are a bloody fool.

So while you have a point, believe me, the prices I looked up were not unreasonable for the coins listed. And, again as I said, it was a quick search for a lark. Believe me, when purchase time actually rolls around for those coins, I will be doing a LOT of looking to the most coin for the money.

I feel your pain, that first page is really tough.

At least for me ...with my middle class budget.

I have kept a eye out for upgrades for my set. Good deals are hard to come across and I am happy to find nice XF/AU coins.

I have been stuck on the 37-S, 39-S and 40-D for a long time now.

I guess I could find the coins I need .. just other coins keep popping up that I think I need first.

I don't see many of those coins you still need, at the LCS's in my area. I am thinking nice better grade early Washington quarters are hard to find.

Good luck ... I hope you fill them all soon.

GR58, notice the connecting theme? If they are D or S, they are expensive. The Ps left are under a hundred. As with early pennies, those two mint marks rule the roost.

Within the past few months I got the 1936-s for $8.10 and the 1937 for $5.00. NO, they are not UNC's, but they fill the holes. :)

I picked up a PCGS MS63 1937 for $27 recently. The last one under a $100 that I needed for this page. Ho hum.

attic, the point of this album is for the coins to be AU or better. "filling the hole" doesn't work here. I already completed an album of circulated coins. This one is just gonna have to be expensive and take a while.

Pinenut, good pick up dude. Hopefully I will manage to grab one similar.

coindog, just noticed what you asked. In the first page, something in the area of 500 or so. I have picked them up here and there over the last 3 years or so, so I have not really kept track.

Oops. Sorry smokeriderdon; I forgot you mentioned the AU part in your first post. That will make it a little more expensive. :)

AS for me, I'm content to get any coin needed as long that it has all the letters and numbers still legible.

I started a dime and quarter set but never got anymore coins for them. (silver)

It would be painful to do a State Quarter Dansco just from BIN's, never mind early silver Washingtons in AU

DNA, thankfully I had 99% of the State Quarters already in mint and proof sets. Just had to buy a couple proofs, one mint and one silver proof set. So that one was pretty much painless. LOL
