The Polar Bear was available on the Shopping Channel for a while (maybe it still is). My brother had a 20% off any purchase from them, and it works for coins too. Last Thursday I ordered the Polar Bear from TSC. With 20% off it was only $80, and under $90 even with shipping. I got the coin on Monday of this week - talk about fast service.
I love it! I think it's brilliant. I wasn't going to buy it, but for 20% off I couldn't resist. The $90 at TSC is still cheaper than the Mint, even with MC free shipping.
It was the only coin I bought this release (apart from 2014 sub), but I am glad that I did. I wish I had the caribou now, though.

Snoopy, how do you get images in your posts? I've tried several times and it's not working for me. the images are .jpg and under 100 kb. They upload to the post fine, but it won't show the image. Only shows that they are broken, somehow. (The symbol with a page ripped in two pieces).
Any help would be awesome, thanks!

I bought the polar bear from the shopping channel 3 days ago I had a gift certificate for $20 it cost me $79.95 including shipping.

@marty So you must've got free shipping then. Because the coin is $99.95 regular. That's awesome. I love easy pay option from TSC, too. It's helped me buy coins that I couldn't afford the whole price for.

@coinzchange They just give them away randomly in e-amils to customers. My mom got a $30 off coupon last December, and just last week my brother got this 20% off coupon. It's a promo code they send to frequent customers, I guess. Or maybe it's random.

  There, finally got it to work. I think. ;) This is a beautiful coin, in my opinion. The polar bear does look a little, uncharacteristically happy...but not too much. Great coin, nonetheless. |

The Shopping Channel has the coin with the signed card for issue and Bromberg just confirmed that he was involved with the design and has a significant portion of the mintage (ie. commissioned).

Re: the coloured polar bear coin I saw this coin at a shop and was a bit disappointed. The finish looks like it is coloured paper stuck on to the coin. Maybe it was the lighting.  But I think mint has done better jobs with colour on other coins. |
