Seller strikes me as a quality eBayer, but he lights his images so brightly that it's tough to comment on surface originality. I disagree with his assessment of this Merc as "well-struck" - not with that periphery - but agree with his grade. Importantly, his price represents that for a "problem" coin in that grade class - in a righteous PCGS slab this is a $1000 coin.

I wouldn't hesitate to do business with this seller, but this isn't the coin.

It's nice but the light is too bright.

It looks dipped to me too. $25 shipping? - will he drive it to your house? I'd stay away for these two reasons.

Sipping is costly, details are sketchy, coin has been left in silver cleaner for a long time. I'd say skip.

Like I said, I am over my head evaluating this coin, but I knew where to get some expert opinions. It does look better than the price suggests. I rarely buy a coin this expensive that is not graded. Thanks!

Always ask yourself this question..... "if it's such a nice coin why is it not slabbed?"
