No, it is because you can't sell counterfeit coins on ebay

Got it, thanks. Guess it needs to have "replica" stamped on it or something.

Quote: No, it is because you can't sell counterfeit coins on eBay I was kind of wondering this myself - I didn't think ebay would take down a page just because a bunch of people complained about it. That would open a whole can of worms. There's nothing at all there now.

I'm so glad there's watchful eyes on eBays listings. Thank you.

Thanks, guess I haven't read their terms lately. I used to see replicas.

What is eBays policy on restrikes, I see them on ebay from time to time. Especially when it's French Jetons by the Paris mint. Or are these also considered copies and are therefore banned. I still have much to learn.

I cannot believe this coin is already at $60. Both sides have so many scratches, even if it wasn't fake who would want it. The scratches are almost like another texture. This seller hasn't many listings, and the description for the 1980 dollar is so confusing. I'm sure a grade 3 child could write a better description. Hopefully it will be removed soon. The coin glen listed the number to has 4 bids and is at $60, with a $20 shipping fee. It looks so bad. I'm amazed folks are placing bids.

@ kbbpll can you explain further, I'm not understanding you fully. I would not want to misinterpret your post. This is why I'm asking for further clarification. What are you referring to? I feel like I walked into the middle of the story.

@pocket_change - it appears that seller on the most recent ebay linked above edited their posting to include a disclaimer, which I quoted in my post. Sorry for not being more specific.
