I do not realy collect anything but coins. But I do have a few things I keep. I have some German Naught geld (think I spelled it wrong) bought them cheap cause they were so darn pretty. Have a couple dozen signed baseballs that I got the players to sign, some pretty famous ones. a bunch of pre 1957 Wagner cast iron pans, but I use them everyday so I do not consider them a collection. just collect them shiney round things. waiting to read more.

Being a geologist, naturally, I have a collection of rocks and I like to purchase really cool "geological" jewellery for my wife. She has a nice pair of nickel-iron meteorite earrings that are out of this world!! Here is a really nice ammolite pendant, which is basically fossilized mother-of-pearl from ammonites, found only in Alberta. I actually traded some key date Victorian 10-cent coins for this piece, the gemstone person who crafted the piece was a coin collector. I think I got the better part of the trade, these colours are quite scarce in ammolite. Here is some rock, eye candy for some of you. I sold this piece last year, because simply it was too valuable to display in my mineral cabinet and it was pointless keeping it in the safety deposit box. From the McIntyre Gold Mine, Timmins, Ontario.

That's some pretty ammolite. I'm a big fan of stones with play of colour like opals and mother of pearl. Is that nickel white gold?

I used to collect Fossils and different types of rocks, then I transitioned into collecting Stamps, Banknotes and Coins, now I'm focusing on just coins.

Mostly coins, but I also collect a few ancient/roman collectibles. Nothing fancy or expensive, just small stuff like dirty brooches and coins. Kinda hard to get really nice stuff on a student budget :(

I still have plenty of Ammonites, Trilobites and Dinosaur Bones, claws and teeth stored in my basement along with various . One of my close Family Friends inherited a gigantic collection from his father who was once an archeologist himself. He has, nearly everything you can name although his house kind of looks like a museum now. I have gifted several jewelry items to my mother made from Fossils, the most recent being a Nautilus shell that has naturally bonded to Pyrite. Nice to see that others are interested in this sort of thing too. I'm not surprised though, we do live in Canada and we have a huge supply coming in from Dinosaur provincial park each year.

Primary collecting interest: antique/obsolete license plates. I have a museum quality worldwide display focusing on plates made of porcelain enamel. Since this is in the Canadian forum, I'll show one of the tougher finds from 'up north': Secondary interests, in order of current priority:
- worldwide coins
- woodworking tools
- interesting rocks/minerals/Indian artifacts
- old marbles
- pulp fantasy/s-f ( inherited large collection; not adding to)
Always interested in swapping with like minded hobbyists.

Funny how many coin people like rocks. I collect gold, placer gold off a beach with my gold pans and rubber boots, garden shovel and turkey baster (to suck gold out of cracks and depressions). Fun finding a picker every once in a while and the rush you get when you wash the sand away and reveal something lustrous and yellow. Love my silver coins, but love my gold in the pan as much. Nice to hear from the palindromic zxcccxz about ammonites and minerals from mysliveryears. Collect on.
