You did not say I-collector did you? Where I get my coins from is not for you to broadcast anymore that is it my business to take it upon myself to tell others where you get yours from. Just manners that's all, stick to the comedy.

FYI, the web link I posted is from icollector. It is not rocket science to figure that out. Coins that sell on those sites, that I am a bidder on, is my business.

Solution, don't broadcast your purchases from major auction websites within 24 hours of the hammer... If discretion is your thing, then wait until you have the coin in hand and post your own photos, rather than use the auctioneers...

Marbury, I actually really like that coin and the toning- I have a feeling the luster on that coin is even better in hand- I thing you can certainly pull a 63 BN possibly higher depending on that mark beneath the chin- it looks to me like that could actually be from the 2x2

Personally I would not have paid more than $5 for that coin. Everybody's talking about 'toning' ? Give me a break! The area in the lower-right quadrant of the obverse has corrosion, and the lighter shade of copper has appeared because someone has tried to clean / rub the corrosion away. That is a damaged coin and sending it to a reputable third-party grader should get those 'value-killing' comments on their certification.

marbury...Do you have the capacity to get bright clear pics of this cent showing the fields in "absolute sharp focus"?

Could you also add an extra pic of the obv lower right quadrant in perfect focus for us ?

I can't see any details on the surface of this coin with the present supplied pics....and everything is too dark and I can't make out any real details here..

BTW ...Does this cent have a pit mark or dig in it..?..and could you show us a sharp pic of the defect if it does..?

I agree with carpman the coin has some red flags, I don't think I would waste my money sending it in to a third party grading company for a grading that would most likely come back AU or MS-60 at best but still a keeper coin and something to educate yourself on some of the things to watch for in future purchases.

Carpman, I respectfully vehemently disagree with you- Remember, this is a photo of a coin in from an auction, the coin is not in hand... for $30 I would gamble on this all day, The coin clearly has strong luster and IMO, based off the photos, is clearly a low UNC with a reasonable chance at coming back higher- We're not talking about a coin someone spent 100's of dollars on- For $30 and a $20 something grading fee, I like Marburys chances on this

Well, as our British friend would say, "The proof is in the pudding." Let Marbury send it in to PCGS and upon its return, post the results on here for all to see. As you say yourself, the coin is not in hand, and your judgments are based on photos presented, as are mine.

Marbury, I agree with others that this piece may not grade. I think PCGS would body bag it or net grade. Seems to have corrosion and may be cleaned at one time and re toned Try it though and let us know how it comes out. ICCS offers a large lot discount on 50 or 100 coin lots. I think it is $6.50 per coin CDN plus insurance and return shipping on 100. Also a little word of advice for you (friendly don't take this the wrong way); the Canadian Coin World is very , very small and most anything good is known about fairly rapidly. If you get anything really nice slab it first and then show it. Most of us in the know get all the same overseas auction catalogues and know the same people, so just be careful.

Customs charges for one coin? Wow the UK must really be hard up for cash! !! As I suspected, looks cleaned and retoned with probs. As they say you win some and you lose some. Hey Marbury at least you are a hard fair player and you are going to win more than you lose! You have shown some real bell ringer winners! Keep playing ............lots of good stuff out there!
