What state are you in? If it had come from an ATM - and if it is new, then more should have been issued, and something like this should hopefully be noticed...eventually. Appears to have a color phase missing; certainly not acetone.
The other side will have the serial number and that'll give us a date.
I'd be hanging on to it for now...

I'd say it's worth far more than face value,if you do the ebay thing i'd start it at around the $150 to $200 mark & see what happens. Oh & imo it's missing the final orange/red layer of print.

Knowing that most full colour prints only have four colour separations (CYMK), I don't understand the following with this note: 1. There is evidence of cyan (C) in the circle area around the ship which appears green after being overprinted with yellow. 2. There is evidence of yellow (Y) throughout the note. 3. There is evidence of magenta (M) in the circle area around the ship, 4. There is evidence of black (K) at either end of the note. So given this, in my humble opinion, I can't see how it can be missing a layer of colour in the printing process.

I don't know either way but isn't every new sheet double or triple checked for colour. Some smartie may have put it in a washer/dryer or microwave or something similar, they are always looking for ways to alter notes.

I wouldn't purchase anything off that seller if my life depended on it. I don't know how he's doing it, but he started of using acetone which completely removes all the ink, and it appears he has now figured out how to just fade them. Stay away from his listings and save your money for real errors, not man made fakes.

Leave any printed article on the dashboard of your car in the sun for a length of time and it WILL fade eventually
