PCG - Polskie Centrum Gradingu. What do you think about genuine of this coin? Seller send me offer - he wants to send me LC from photo and I can keep both coins, without cash back. I don't know what to do, if this IHC is genuine, I think this offer is quite nice, but if it is a fake, then I will return coin.

Return the IHC that you purchased and run from this seller. Obviously cleaned and retoned coins are how they are making money.

this doesn't smell right. I'd doubt the authenticity of the LC too...it looks like it was just struck and could be worth thousands if genuine in that grade.

I think this coin may be fake. The date looks strange and too large.
My first impressions as well--since I look at the date first on IHCs (well on all coins actually) The date is not right for starters. Compare the oval inner loops of a genuine PCGS-certified coin to the OP's circular loops.

It does not match any Newcomb variety for that year.

As regards the 1828, I see no flags against authenticity but I don't like the color even a little bit. A datapoint: Heritage Auctions has 215 records for 1828 Large Cent sales. Not a single one was adjudicated "Red."

Someone tried to remove that fingerprint on the obverse, and wrecked the coin.

There is no Newcomb with star six right of the coronet. Quick google search here is your coin.

I was thinking the 1878 IHC was a fake, but couldn't really tell from the photos the date did look too "fat" at first glance, but the color was throwing me off even more than the date was. If you scroll down on the alibaba link, it says the material used is brass, that is why the coin looks so reddish in color I suppose.\ and not like a worn LC from normal circulation.

The LC is certainly fake, doesn't speak for much credibility with this seller now.

Well...at first glance, I wasn't sure about the LC either...although the fields looked somehow too 'modern'.
