Are you, or do you know a Toronto Maple Leaf fan? Check this out. Puck and coin $5.88 (regular $24.95)

I'm surprised that they're not paying $5.88 to Leafs fans to take them off their hands...

I start a new thread for great deals you found on the net. I think with the christmas season and all the stuff dealers want to sell-off, it's a good time to share our find... Here's the one I found :

http://www.silvertowne.com/p-23271-...f-label.aspx

So, in order to update this thread, I got my coin

NO taxes at Customs and NO brokerage fee !

I was very surprised in a positive way that they sent also the sleeve, box and COA.

A pleasure... I also receive my Panda 2014 and Kookaburra 2014, no brokerage fee, no customs either... If it's bullions, no problem, I purchage a lot from Silvertone in the last year and I never paid custom of brokerage fee... I compare with Colonial Acres, even with the exchange rate, bullion cost less with the free shipping at Silvertone... It's the only place I know in the US where they ship free in Canada for bullions...

Would UPS not charge a brocker fee of 25.00 on all entries?

I just received my order from Silvertone. The package was shipped with USPS, and then took over by UPS. There is a note "Exempted" on the shipping slip. I'm not sure if it means tax exempted item so that no brokage and tax was charged. Let me take a pic later today.

What I understand is this:

UPS has different services. They can just pick up your order or they can even deliver it to your door (so in this case they will do the customs stuff).

So, if they do all the complete service and deliver to your door, you could expect some brokerage fees.

The Silvertowne policy is: "anything over $400 goes entirely UPS".

When I received a confirmation email with the tracking number directly from UPS I was worried and contacted Silvertowne and they replied : "Ups will pick up and delivers to the nearest PO".

And that's what happened. They picked it up, then they gave it to USPS and that's why here in Canada it was delivered by Canada Post. In the box there are 2 labels-stickers, one from UPS and another one from USPS.

I think it's clear now, under 400$ from Silvertone, no problem with customs and brokerage, and make sure you buy bullions... If the coins are not 99% in gold or silver, I think there's custom charges...

@Mialonde1977 The charges for anything other than 99.99% silver or gold is taxes applicable - HST in Ontario, PST and GST depending on your province.

As for UPS, if they come to your door, and request a brokerage fee, you can decline it, and explain to them that YOU will clear it with customs later. It is convenient for me, as the Cdn Customs at Bridge to the USA is only 10 minutes away. Keep in mind, they will put up a fight, but it is your right to refuse their fees if you didn't request them to do it for you.
