Here's the slab pics that I took with the ANACS pictures underneath. The color of the ANACS pictures is off, but at least it shows the corrosion. It's on ebay now. All I have is the ANACS pictures in the listing. My other option is to have 'my' slab photos in the listing, which are better in color, but don't show the corossion as well....so I'd add my raw photos to it. But IMO my raw photos are a bit TOO unflattering. Is it wrong to not make the coin look as BAD as possible? Full disclosure is one thing...but...just sayin' Any suggestions? I think I already know the answer.
Thanks. Ed

I guess the question is, which photos are more representable of what the coin looks like in hand? The raw photos make it look cleaned, but ANACS said nothing about that....so no point in making it look worse than it is if its not officially designated as cleaned.

I would suggest getting it graded even still. It will sell for a lot more, just because people know with confidence that it is authentic and will therefore bid higher

Any 09-S VDB IMHO is worth slabbing. Better return on your coin and guarantee of authenticity.

Well stated Johnny & VT.

are you sure its real? Thats the first thing I say. I don't chances on key coins as they are faked often and the fakes are convincing.

Thanks for the support everybody.

Johnny, you're right. For some reason I thought that cleaned was better than corroded.

My slab pictures are definitely closer to what it looks like in-hand. It's hard to see all the different mottled shades of brown unless you look close.

Yeah it sold!! Not going to get too excited until I'm sure the buyer isn't going to return it, but at least it's a step in the right direction. If all goes well I'd like to reinvest the $ into the same coin, clean graded somewhere between VG08-F12.

Oh, you sold it....I bet you did pretty well. It's really not that bad compared to other problem slabs I've seen.

I normally never ask, but you mind sharing with us how much you got. CDN is $800 ask and I'm wondering how it compares. Thanks

Sure, I had it listed at $779 and sold it for $710. I was happy to get that for it, and I hope the buyer is happy with the coin. The buyer is an older gentelman who said he'd been wanting one since he was a kid.

Great price and the buyer got a good deal.

Yeah, I probably could have gotten a little more for it, but every deal can't be the deal of the century. So I paid-it-forward a little on this one. I made money, and the buyer is happy. Probably shouldn't take coins personally, but I really hated that one, and couldn't wait to get rid of it.
