For the AFC and NFC championship round:
1) Each player must pick the winner for each game. You will earn 1 point per game if you are correct (maximum of 2 possible points)
2) Predict the total passing yards for each starting quarterback. You pick up 1 point for each quarterback if you estimate their passing yards within 25 yards of their actual yardage in the game. (it does not matter who you pick to be the winner, you have a chance to earn up to 4 points; 1 point per each quarterback
**If needed as a tie breaker please post your guess as to the total number of touchdowns scored in both games combined. Hopefully we won't need to use this as a tie breaker, but if we have a tie in points total, then we will break the tie by whoever comes the closest to the total number of touchdowns scored by all 4 teams this weekend.
1 person will be eliminated so that we have a head to head 2-person battle in the Superbowl. Good luck

I do have one question about the passing yards total. If the starting quarterback does not finish the game or if a second quarterback plays part of the game, then do all the passing yards count for both quarterbacks on the same team or is it just the "starting" quarterback's yards counted?

Ok I will go first.
New England vs Denver --> winner Denver San Francisco vs Seattle --> winner Seattle
Quarterback passing yards: New England --> 234 yards Denver --> 286 yards San Francisco --> 205 yards Seattle --> 156 yards
Total touchdowns in both games --> 9

to answer your question it is simply the starting quarterback passing yards. So for example with Denver we are only considering the starting quarterbacks yards, so assuming Manning starts the game, then we will only care about Manning's passing yards...if a backup comes in during the game or a running back throws a pass or whatever, they do not count, only the starters yards are taken into account.

so far everybody gets 1 point from the Denver win, nobody was close enough on Manning's number, but coinsearcher83 picks up 1 point for being within 25 yards of Brady's actual yardage. We'll see how the second game goes...

Thanks to numerous turnovers by the 49ers, I am knocked out and perfessor and coinsearcher will duke it out in the final game of the NFL season...Broncos versus Seahawks. Rules will be posted by tomorrow evening. Good luck to both of you!

Alright...good luck to final 2 players, here are the rules:
- pick the outright winner (DEN or SEA) and you get 2 points - guess the total rushing yards for each team, if you are within 15 yards you get 1 point (2 points possible if you get each teams within 15 yards) - predict the number of passing touchdowns for each team, must be the exact number (no matter who on the team throws them). (2 points possible, you can get 1 point for each team)
In case of a tie: select the margin of victory and whoever is closest to the actual margin of victory gets the tiebreaker.
Good luck
