The mention of silver brings out the worst in bidiots. I had bid $2 on this peso because I have 54 of them and would like to get a "roll" of 100. By the way, there is absolutely nothing special about this coin aside from its melt value of $2.88. And this is not the only time I've seen this happen with one of these 10% silver pesos.

HondoB, it sounds like the bidder doesn't want to lose or wants it badly enough to keep bidding higher.

As always, bidding behavior is a human thing--in a marketplace adorned with warts and all. Wonder how much that donkey in Lower Egypt went for centuries ago--perhaps was bid up?

Auction ended - absolutely ridiculous. And there's a buyers premium of 18% to be added to this.

Well, the buyer may be disappointed when they get it.

Is anybody interested in a whizzed 1909 V.D.B. Lincoln Cent (not the S) for $1162? At least it's graded, I guess. I would love to have a chat with the two people who have added the coin to their watchlist to understand what they were thinking. ebay item number: 188126023095

Quote: It's a shame what someone did to this coin. Almost tempted to bid on it at $15. Update:

A thought... Just because people add items to a watch list doesn't immediately mean they are fools who can't wait to empty their pockets. I've added 'questionable' items to my watch list many, many times over several years, with the intent to observe and be able to locate/access item listings quickly.

Quote: Did you go and buy it? Yes, I put a minimum bid and won it. Seller was a jerk, however, and wouldn't send it with standard shipping.
