No arrows after or before the date? I have little info about Half Dimes just basing it on what I've looked up in the last half hour...1856 have arrows dont they? Thanks for the info

Look at PCGS Coin Facts pages and you'll get your answers. It's most likely 1856 and it's only value at this point is in that of the beholder, be it you or the person who sees your auction and wants to own it.

Hard to tell from the picture what it is, but if it is indeed an 1846, then it's a tough date for the series. You'd likely get a few dollars on ebay to the right buyer.

With that hole, I'd maybe put a $2 over melt on it just because it's Seated coinage but if I was asked to buy it I wouldn't pay more than melt (If I decided to buy it at all...)

Ok thanks for the replies, looks like it could and probably is 1856 I guess they also didnt have the arrows....will probably keep it and keep it a 1846 in my mind :)...thanks again

1856 did not have arrows. They did arrows from 1853-1855.

To someone who hasn't got a Seated Liberty half dime, even if it's 1856, it's still worth $2-$4 in this condition.

To me that looks like the 1856. The 6 in the 1846 is flattened on the top.
