Well here is another update for some more sellers. First check out this one http://myworld.ebay.com/newpjeremym/ , he just bought 2500 wheats and a crimper and is selling his Aunts wheats, hum a little fishy.

I bought some from this guy http://myworld.ebay.com/mel-ko , I got 1 1930 and the rest were 40-50's (249 of them). You could tell they were not bank wrapped and one roll was short I almost left my first negative but did not want the negative retaliatory one left for me.

I bought some from this guy http://myworld.ebay.com/coinsatface , they were not bad. Some mint marks, and a few RPM's.

This guys wheats were not to bad- http://myworld.ebay.com/super28 , once again some mint marks, I think this is the one that had a few semI key's in it.

I just ordered some from this guy- http://myworld.ebay.com/2468_dog this one looks very promising. I like how he list the cents on the ends, it at least gives you an ideal what kind of mix is in there.

Doh! I saw 2468 dog's yesterday and was thinking about that one too! :D All of my RPM were D's and was liking the thought of several 'S' rolls.

Let me know how it goes!

Vaslin,

Ya I got a pretty good deal, $43 plus shipping for 10 rolls. Most of the other auctions ended in the $60's. Plus I live an hour from the seller so I should get them fast!

Another thing I check is if there are repeat buyers, or at least bidders. I figured if someone ordered rolls, found some good cents or thought there was promise in finding something they would bid on some more of their auctions. I know if I was impressed with what I found in the rolls I would bid on more. Anyways I will post the results from 248's rolls. I could not do it in the last batch from the 3 sellers because they got mixed up(the 18 month and 3 year old got a hold of them)

Well the 2468_dog coins were a little disappointing. Out of 500 cents there were 2 in the 1930's and not a single "S" mint. Most were 40-50's (of course) and I am done checking for varieties through the 40's and have found one possible. I did order another 6 from billc, I see he has a new batch and has some good ones on the ends (1909-S, 1931-S and a few others) I will post the results from those when I get them. I think I am about done searching the wheats, I may move onto the memorials as those will only cost me face. I say that now but know I will end up buying more to try and finish off my roll collection.

I did get to finish off a couple "D" mints with the last batch, there were a lot of those especially in the 40's. The quality was nice through out the rolls, I did not have to through out any. There were the usual BU's in the 50's. Overall 2468_dogs were a 6.5 on a scale of 1-10.

On a side note, that 1914-D I posted about on the ebay forum is a fake, stuff like that makes me cringe, I have been thinking of sending in my 1914-D and a couple others just to make sure then take them right back out of the slab and put them back into my albums.

I finally got time to post my latest buy, I got 12 rolls and this is what was in them

First I got a 1911 MS brown, very nice I actually found one that would go into the book.
I also got a couple 1930's in BU, those also found a home in my book

Here is the rest of the rolls-

1909-1 1920-13 1930-13 1938-23
1910-5 1920D-1 1930S-5 1938D-2
1911-3 1920S-1 1930D-5 1939-34
1912S-2 1921-1 1931-3 1939D-4
1913-2 1921S-1 1932-2 1939S-8
1914-2 1923-1 1932D-1
1916-2 1925-3 1933-2
1916D-2 1926-3 1934-20
1917-4 1927-8 1935-17
1917D-1 1928-6 1935D-3
1918-9 1928D-1 1935S-2
1918S-5 1928S-1 1936-22
1918D-1 1938-7 1936S-3
1919-8 1929S-2 1936D-6
1919S-5 1939D-1 1937-26
1919D-1 1937D-11
1937S-7

Thats 332 out of the 600, there were 40-50 BU's in the 40's and 50's. I had 2 junk ones, and a few RPM's. The best was a 54 triple D very nice RPM with one north and south. Overall I am happy, I finished off a few of my roll collection and am getting closer on a few more. The only thing I don't like is the 10 bucks a roll, this time I made out really good, the 12-S are in nice shape and the 1911 MS was really a suprise. The 1932 MS might go into the book.

I've bought several pounds of pennies from jjcoins on ebay. In these batches, I have found a 1865 Three Cent piece (nickel(, A Shield nickel, 1912D, a couple of 1909 and quite a few 1919's. I can get quite a few nice surprises. Overall, I never expect them to be Unsearched at one time or another, but I do seem to get the best value from this seller. I've bought a roll or two from other sellers and can barely find a pre 40's cent.

paland,

I looked for a jjcoins and found one seller with that name but no wheats for sale. I understand all wheats have been searched one time or another, but when I get 1000 wheats and there are none in the 30's and not a single "S" mint it can be a little frustrating.

His name is actually jjcoins1 and here is a link to his stuff. (I hope this works) There are several pages so maybe he still has pennies. He sells them by the pound instead of the roll. It was 9.99 per pound and each pound had about 130 pennies. (plus a few good coins I mentioned before)

chrsb, I too would like to know who ou are buying from. I son't have any of that age group kids left here, ( my youngest great grand kids are in college, so I am just looking for something to go thru for my own pleasure.
I have been burned by several DIFFERENT sellers of "unsearched cents" sellers, and finally gave up in disgust! I "live with" the memorials, but I love the wheats. The only thing that could be said about the "unsearched cent", would be that some of the VARIETIES moght still there, (maybe). probably gave away my age, but, "so what"? Everyone knows I'm an old fart, trying to enjoy a "kids pastime"!

Dick,

I buy from this guy- http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1Q...MEFSQ3aMESOI and that was who the last 12 rolls came from in my previous post. He ships the next day and packs the rolls like they are eggs. Like I said earlier, he charges a premium, but if you look at the feedback, some completed auctions where the end coins were 31-S, 1909-S, 1922 plain, 1924-D, these rolls IMHO are the real deal. Now don't everybody go buying up all of the rolls, I am only allowed 6 rolls per month now (thats another story) per the wife. I plan on buying his rolls till my roll collection is done. If you read my listing of the last batch on the previous page you will see the 2 1912-S, and the MS brown 1911. I have also got a couple 1910-S in the past and a few other semi keys. For varieties I got a very nice 1954-D triple D, and a few others. I still have a few years to go through.
