Date is set further right than "the" obverse die for this date/mm. Fake....

The fact that it looks AU and is not graded. . . . . Yep. Fake. There's no way this coin would survive into 2014 having never been graded. This, along with all the other "red flag" diagnostics presented so far. However, this fake looks much better than the others I have seen. Any thoughts on its origin from somewhere other than China?

I didn't know Liberty had a pimple on her nose. And it's so nice and shiny.

It almost looks like whoever made it took a genuine S mint reverse and paired it with a 189X obverse. Then they removed the last digit and created their own 3.

Bidding has reached over $1,000 USD this is painful watching people bid on something that is obviously fake. -MV

I agree its a fake, but disagree with the statement that ALL 1893 S Morgans have been slabbed. Even if you only count the high grade ones. Some of us have had our 1893 S Morgans since the 60s, and maybe before. Or we inherited a Collection that was started long before our births. I got mine from my Grandfather who got mine in circulation in 1932. Long after that he was part owner of the Silver Spur Casino in CC. He pulled at least three from the counting room back in the 60s and 70s. My Uncle had those, and now I guess his sons do. The point is Not all of them, by any means have been slabbed.

When I click the link to see the coin I get a page with about 50 that are for sale. How do I find the specific one to see it?

Bluegrass, it was probably pulled. It's no longer coming up as a listing.
