So the ebay stories may be true huh? j/k

That is great man. Wish I could get that lucky. Best I have done was when I was a teenager and my grandmother asked me to help her with this old huge purse. Picked it up and it was HEAVY. Come to find out she had $24 in pennies she had saved in it. Except for the later years they were all wheat pennies. Is how I've gotten a few key dates for my whiteman back then. Sadly no 09-s vdb. I still have the purse to this day, along with my old grandfathers wallet with a faded silver cert. in it.

Happy hunting.

OK...I finally got to go through them. There were 5 Standing Liberties with no readable date. The rest were Washingtons, most were in decent condition and I was able to upgrade my Quarter book with about 20 of them! The 63s and 64s were in great condition. I was able to put together a really nice UNC Roll of 64s, that I plan on keeping. I am hopeful my father-in-law passes along the other 11 rolls, I have sent word that I'd buy them from him if he wants to get rid of them and to give me first shot. I'll be putting most of these on my trade/sell list...there were 49 different date/mints in all. Needless to say it was great going through them and each roll was just exciting as the next!

That's great! Must of been fun going through them. Too bad that the 5 standing liberties had no dates. Maybe you should try some nic-a-date on them?

Awesome find!! I'd love to stumble across some coins that have some family history behind them. I still remember as a kid seeing Franklin half dollars on my grandfathers dresser.

Congrats. THat's somewhat like what just happened to me. I just went through this huge collection of Seated and Bust Coins and there were almost complete sets of the Half-Dimes and Dimes along with several other coins.

Not really I told him that if he wanted to get rid of them to let me know first, he just smiled. I think he'll come around but it may be after the divorce.
