This reminds me of a joke. Three people who owed a dead man went up to his coffin and said to that dead man.
1st man. I owe you 100 $ here is 50$ please write off the balance
2 man said I owe you 200 $ here is 150 $ please write off the balance.
3 man (A lawyer) said here is a cheque for the principal and interest upto date (Unsigned). Most probabily the 550000 worth are the face value not the market rate.

yeah I brought back a fair amount from when I was there. a couple of each. but I do know of few guys who investited most of their army apy on buying as much as they could. they must have plenny of money my link below will show you some of my notes I havent posted them all yet, but their are some of my Iraq notes on there

I am at nearly 1,000,000 dinar. That was the limit I set back when I first started reading about it and getting in on the frenzy. I stopped short of opening an over seas account allowing me to trade on the iraq exchange. If the dinar pegs, great, if it doesn't won't bother me one bit. I kind like the crisp bills and it looks cool wrapped up in bricks.

They do have coins expecially the older ones but I am not sure of new ones , there were some Kurdish coins minted in advance to their thinking of getting a Kurdistan but I guess they are considered fantasy at this point

The Kurdish coins are listed in Krause's Unusual World Coins.
Did anyone get the 25,000 Dinars dated AH1423 (2003) with Saddam Hussein on it? This note was printed by the Americans as a stopgap measure prior to the introduction of the new currency.
I have heard the term 'Swiss Dinar' used in reference to the currency used by the Kurds in northern Iraq.Has anyone seen these notes? They have never been listed in
either Pick or Pick Specialised at all.

I do have kurdish themed Iraqy notes but they are quite commom at least the ones I have I didnt know that about the kurdish coins(they cant be real as far as monetary backing)maybe because they are limited and well sought after warents them a position , and with that I will say good bye or in kurdish Wa'HAffies

not that I know of they were coins for kurdistan(It does not exsist)the kurds thought iraq would be split in to sections with them getting the north mostly

I know that Kurdistan does not exist. Kurds are trying to get a country of their own, not only northern Iraq, but also some part of south-eastern Anatolia. over 30.000 people are lost in that matter :( Anyway, lets stay tuned for coins only  |
