I have not seen this piece in hand but from what I do know it is supposed to be genuine.. No one will ever send this back in because it is already certified.. I only question the way the date seems to be very weak on the last number...

Probably due to a slightly grease-filled die.

I see what you mean.
I do not have one to compare it to.
Trends ms-60 @ 75,000
The last one looks like it has no base.

exactly , Bmoney, if all the pros are correct then this one should be perfect as the others.. I have seen examples of quite a few and not 1 of those has a faded 1 like this.. Just seems real odd thats all

I replied earlier from my phone. Now that I am at home I looked up the pictures PCGS took using the cert #

It is perfectly fine. Just the angle at which the OP picture was shot plus the slightly darker color on the numeral made it look ghostly.

Ok now the next question..With the new clear pics , does anyone else see a difference in the last 1.. points to check..# 1 different shape 1's # 2 is the base on the second 1 is shorter , is this the way it should look ? Just wondering why they are not the same ?

Here's a pic of another 1921 MS 65 certified ..Look at the 1's here.. You will see the last 1 again is different from the MS 66 coin.... The MS 65 last 1 is broader and almost the same as the first 1.. or is it just my eyes....

? did they use different dies ? did they make diferent type dates ?

they originally made lots of 1921 halves so yes there would be different dies for the reverse/

Just like the George VI halves........... Take 1945 for instance. We recently bought 11 original bank rolls of 45's from an old time dealer and I found in the batch pointed fives (most) repunched 5/5 ( around 8) and 2 very scarce Blunt 5 coins. The last digit is oft times a different punch so depends on the die in use at a particular striking. Since 1921 halves are now very difficult to acquire in nice shape (mint state) it would be hard to compare various dies.
