It is great to add another Murano glass coin for my collection.
But I hope Mint won't raise the price again. It was $139.95 for the GLB and GBB, then $149.95 for the GB and the GCC.
What's the price for this year 2014? $159.95? Oh-No...

I don't think they will raise the price until the second coin of the series comes out.

I collect Murano Glass (vases, bowls, paper weights) here but I do not have a Coin yet.....LOL Hope it has some *sparkle* in it like a lot of the older Murano art Glass. Eg, see pic" Also it would be nice if RCM would also do something to honor CHALET ART GLASS as they were Italian immigrants that came to Canada and started to make Chalet Glass. Perhaps CCF could put a *bug* into RCM ear and give them that suggestion too. Chalet Glass is part of Canadian History....as is the Canadian Coin. Here is a Piece of Chalet Glass that has Uranium in it to *glow*. I would like a coin that has some Green glass glowing on it !! Hope okay to post these **samples** for Coin ideas.....

Maybe I'm the exception here but I don't think this coin would have the same succes that had the previous first coin in the Glass Murano insect series.

I agree Arianzo, initialy there was a big hype about the Candy Cane as well. The Murano glass may be done, it's time for something unique to create a sell out. I like the uranium glow coin idea...

I like the uranium glow coin idea... yeah....That would make for a Neat coin, and also recognize the history of Chalet Art Glass here in Canada.
How about this idea of mine for a Coin? I have a Murano Art Glass Pendant with 14 kt gold around it. NOW imagine a Canadian GOLD Coin with one side as a regular gold Coin and the other side with the whole type of Murano Glass on the other side of it LIKE the pendant below. Now that would be special!! This Murano pendant I have is about the size of a quarter I would say.
Just throwing out Coin ideas..... Think we could *influence* RCM on that....LOL....and I think the RCM should also create a coin honoring the Coin Collecting as an interest and a hobby. All related to coins.

I wish this new murano glass coin has a festive theme (such as Easter day) following the candy cane christmas coin, otherwise RCM has to face serious consequences: 1) Themes in this glass series will become a mess, 3 bugs + 1 holiday + animals? Just like 20-for-20 seires. That declares death of this murano glass series. 2) If RCM wants to stop festive theme series (I have Candy Cane' screen copy from RCM website, it says "is the first coin in a series featuring an engraved and painted festive design with"), then RCM will face massive candy cane coin returns. Most seriously, if RCM stop festive series, RCM will hurt its reputation very badly all over the world. I hope RCM still has reputation for whatever it said before.

like said in the other forum by me and other members they are probably going to start a new glass series. so yunbo I would not worry, they will continue their weird festival glass series and make a new series with reptiles (frog on lilly pad) or something like that. They will try and sell a coin to all different tastes..........
