I shudder at the thought, but even in its' "grinding wheel" condition this is probably still a $3000 coin.

Edit: Kelly, why was this stuck in Modern Coin Grading?

It looks to have near AU details, but harshly cleaned. I would say $5.5k. I would have no problem paying 3k for it(if I had the money)...lol. My VG-8 example is worth more than 3k, and this one has a lot more meat on it than mine.

Hmm, judging from the thread it either went really low or really high.

Ill guess it went high in the 12-15k range

I hope someone didn't pay more than $3-4000 for a 1916 SLQ in this condition.

If they paid moon money it would be a sad thing.

I'll guess $11,000 with those tail feathers. It's a shame about the harsh cleaning.

edwether is the winner for the hammer!

$7,000 + 15% buyers fee. https://www.proxibid.com/asp/LotDet...5&rfpb=0#Top. When it was first posted, I was thinking in the $3000 range.

What shocked me most was the grade given, AU-53, this poor baby has been scrubbed, even I could tell that from the pictures.
