I'm going to stick this and a few more cleaned coins in an old wooden cigar box for a while and see what happens.

First thought was VG10 but I can see it at F12

I'm not sold on the cleaning. I see what may be causing people to say this, but I feel if it has been cleaned, it may be deemed market acceptable and not warrant a details grade at a TPG. I've seen some dogs in PCGS holders over the years. This is a solid F-12 and I'm sure you already know, it is a B-1. Only two types for this year. Still looking for a B-2 for my collection. Nice coin! I dug out some slabs and found this F-12 B-1similar to yours. I believe yours is a touch stronger. Maybe not enough to make 15, but stronger in the obverse for sure. Thought you might be interested in seeing a twin sister of yours! Edited to add pics.

Nice twin! I love these old quarters.
I'm not sure it's been cleaned but it could use a bit of mellowing either way.
Thanks for the pics.

By coincidence, I also have one, and it is also graded Fine 12. (NGC). It is very similar to yours (actually to both of yours!) That is very interesting jpbone, I did not know that there are 2 die varieties for the 1822 CBQ. The other must be pretty scarce.

And it's triplets! GERMANICVS, yes, the other is very scarce. My book says R-5 but it's not the newest book. I've never seen one in person, but they do show up on ebay from time to time. The large sized CBQs are my favorite US coin. I think it's the thrill of the chase. You can go into coin shop after coin shop asking if they have a single example, and at least 95% of the time they don't (at least where I am located). Then, of the 5% of the times they do have one, they look like they came from the garbage disposal. Days I find nice CBQs and bring it home are gooood days!

Since we are talking about the 1822 CBQ, I might as well show my 2nd. example of the year. Ex Heritage. The coin is only very slightly toned - I guess (hope) that ANACS considered this to be a natural (i.e. not cleaned) original coin (?).

Nice! Seems we have similar taste. Yes, they deemed it original. Otherwise it would be noted on the holder. I have another 1822. I try and post it also. It is raw but I believe it to be original low grade. In the G-6 to VG range.
