I have purchased coins in no-staple adhesive flips online, only to find the coin slipped out of the center and into the adhesive. Not good.

I use a regular stapler and flatten the backs of the staples with pliers. Works good. I have not tried a flat cinch stapler. They seem to work very well based on what I've seen.

I normally use clear 3M tape on many of my 2x2's. Last a lot longer than staples and is easier to remove. Just slit along the edge and they open. 3M tape is rather on the stable side and does not leak off dangerous gasses. When I do use staples, I simply use 3, each side and the bottom. Since the top is folded over and sort of tight, not much sence in putting one there. I use a standard pliers to flatten them too. I really don't care for staples due to one accident. Purchasing a 21S Lincoln Cent in about MS64, I used a screw driver to pry open the staples. It slipped and ran accross the face of Lincoln.
With tape more room to write, no chance of a staple getting to another coin and they slide in and out of those plastic pages with 20 slots so much easier.

Just did a quick search on ebay, and flat clinch staplers are about $10 if you want to go that route.

I use regular staples in a regular stapler. Mine is a Dollar Tree special. Just crimp them down with pliers and you'll be fine.

After 30+ years I have never a problem with pliers.

Putting coins in holders is easy.

Removing coins from holders, well... staple removers are way more dangerous than pliers!


I have decided that the next time I see one of these on sale I am grabbing it. Nothing to lose for trying.

Like just carl I never use staples. Tape is just neater in my opinion. And they do slide into the sheets a lot easier.
