Hmmm cool, seems likke youhave no interest in answers! I like sharing information at all. But in my oppinion, it is not too much, even to comment on it, if someone did spent a few minutes for helping me. Even when I am online the next days. Just saw that you never do this... even no thanks or so... my mistake, will not happen again. Maybe some one can delete my posts from this topic? I don´t like helping such freeloaders

I sincerely hope it doesn't happen again. In fact, if this is to be your attitude - demanding praise for your contributions - then you're best served by not posting at this forum any more. That way you can be sure it doesn't happen again. Perhaps the original poster forgot he'd created this thread. Perhaps you don't care that more than 300 people beside that poster have read your words and learned from them. Doesn't bother me either way. The attitude you display is not welcome here regardless.

Oh sorry - it was a hard night-shift for me and it would have been better first going to sleep than writing. but I was a bit annoyed at this. Don´t know this from our german/austrian forums. I dont damand any "praise", it is only the minimum of common courtesy. but lets go back to topic, now. greetings

Quote: it is only the minimum of common courtesy. I quite agree, and have no right to take someone to task for having reacted poorly to a bad night at work. Wouldn't be a first for me, either, as a night-shifter myself. Let us chalk this up to experience. At your request, I'll be happy to redact these off-topic posts as irrelevant and not representative of the members involved; otherwise, I'll leave them in place as an example of how two people work through a difference of opinion.

It appears that there could be a few possible candidates for which the Nussbaum reference could pertain. It is really too bad that NGC couldn't be more specific with their pedigree notation on their older slabs particularly if the collection isn't as well known as for example Newman or Green or Reiver or Eliasberg. The least the TPGs could do would be to have a web page with short backgrounds on the pedigrees they will slab. Thanks for the info.

Platinrubel, I certainly didn't meant to ignore you either, I tried to answer best I could, I think you have provided a lot more information than I was able to. I have not been on much the past few days due to a busy work schedule also.
EFLargeCents - I agree with NGC not being more open with their labeling of their own slabs. One would think it would be a simple thing to find on their website.

@ westcoin: my harsh answer was not adressed to you. ;-)
@EFLargeCents: I want to say sorry for my hard words against you. please forgive me. as I wrote: I have had a hard nightshift, after that I have drunk a bit and checked my emails and the forums. normally I never act and write like I did it that time. I hope you can accept my apology. Believe me, I regret my words.
back to topic: I think it is really meant the "Harold J. Nussbaum Collection". There are coiins slabbed, dated after the death of the other two Nussbaums, I discribed. greets thomas

Quote: @ westcoin: my harsh answer was not adressed to you. ;-) I knew that! Just wanted to make sure you knew some of us appreciated you answers to the puzzle. I also get the hard days' night reference as well, I work weird hours, my hobbies (collecting and researching coins and doing astrophotography) have weird long hours too. Thanks for the information, you were able to dig up I found it interesting, I had no idea that Hans was the grandson of a prominent dealer. What little info I was able to find (and I wasn't even sure I had the right guy) was mostly in German and I wasn't going to use Google translate to go over the dozens of pages the search results brought up. I put in an email to NGC about this provenance of the Nussbaum reference and will post what answer I receive from them.

Platinrubel, Yes apology accepted, I think the best of us have bad days. No hard feelings!
I can sometimes check posts on my phone but not always respond and I have been out of town. You certainly shed more light on the Nussbaum possibilities then I was able to find online and that is much appreciated!
Westcoin, keep us all posted on what NGC says!

Received an answer from NGC, not real helpful to say the least, I've edited their response to change my last name to "Westcoin" in their response below, to preserve my identity on the public forum. NGC's response: Quote: Dear Mr. Westcoin,
Thank you for your email. The customer requested that as a pedigree. It's most likely the submitters last name. If you were to request an pedigree it would read "Westcoin Collection".
Please feel free to email or call us should you have any further questions.
Thank you,
Lisa

So NGC let's you put something on the slab if you request it? I didn't realize that. PCGS appears to have certain restrictions on pedigree usually involving their registry top 5 and holding a spot for a number of years. Is paying to have your name on the slab the norm for the industry otherwise?
Thanks for the update westcoin!

This topic gave me the idea to post a request about Barry Donnell. I put it into the main forum, but it may be moved by the moderators. SO many Nussbaums!

PCGS will do it too. Money talks.
