That's a very popular series amount collectors and my personal favorite series of Canadian banknotes. It holds it value and not many bargains to be found in that series. If you purchased it for around $150-$200, IMO both the seller and buyer would be happy with that amount. A very nice note.

There's quiet a few folds in the note and I didn't really take notice to the small tear in above the "A" in Canada.
And unfortunately I paid more than $200 for this note.. so the seller I would think is pretty darn happy... If/when I ever sell... in the big scheme of things it will be for a loss... but lesson learned and I'm not exactly that bothered by it... I will be happy with this not for awhile as it's going to be part of a mural for me... so what I will lose on the buy and sell I will certainly gain in value for appreciation over hopefully the next 10-20 years.

It's worse when I DON'T get the coin I was after over a few extra dollars.
life's short, enjoy it (as long as the mortgage is paid and the kids are fed). there's no prizes for being the richest guy in the graveyard...

Sometimes when I've bid I'm happy to get outbid...it's somewhat of a relief because I got caught up in auction fever and overbid what I should have. Other times...it really grinds my gears when someone snipes an item that I've bid on at the very last second.

Wade: I totally hear you... I once lost out on a bid for a 1927 quarter in EF condition ... nobody else bid on it but me and I did it just to start the auction (a different site than ebay) anyways was sniped out at the last second for a .50 bid.. buyer got a HUGE steal on that one!! From then on I've made it a strategy of mine for most items to watch the auction and in the last few minutes bid my max amount and if I win great .. if not the hunt will still continue...

Oh yeah, not so much buyer's remorse, but seller's remorse. There a whole list of Canadian Vicky cent varieties I sold on a whim back in 2002 that I'm regretting a lot. Considering the market for them have jumped up a ton in the 12 years. And I'm especially torn by selling a rare R9 Civil War Token last year.

"Sometimes when I've bid I'm happy to get outbid...it's somewhat of a relief because I got caught up in auction fever and overbid what I should have." I KNOW that feeling! As for buyer's' remorse, one of my Barber dimes, bought over 20 years ago, still haunts me. It is "funky." Seller's remorse? Coins sold to a smelter which would have been appreciated by a fellow CCF member. Thanks so much [NOT!] for making me remember this.

Hahhah Matthew... but what are we all if not lessons learned in the past...
btw.. if you EVER consider going to the smelter again.. please contact me first... I kinda like silver coins ya know! :D
Persistant: DANG losing an auction from a 1 cent bid! ouch that has to sting! As for the "tie" I can only assume the first to put in a previous bid amount or the first to put in the final bid amount would win the auction in case of a tie.
If you ever pick up those '37's I really wanna see pics!

I put my max bid in when the auction has less then 5 seconds left. If I didn't bid high enough, it will end before I can consider increasing it.
I also never bid an amount ending in "0" or "5" (like $25.00, $25.50, $25.35). My bids usually end in 1-4 or 6-9 (IE: "$25.68")

My bids also do, soulchief. Sometimes you win by a penny.

AgCoinAu, I could put together a roll of 20 dollars (Morgans & Peace) if that would work for you. Or a roll of 20 Barber halves. Or both. The best halves were sent to Honolulu where they report that the like the beach and the sunshine! You silver stackers are relentless in your search. I'd rather that they go to a CCF member.

I can't say I offer the same scenary here... unfortunately.. it's the great white north and in the middle of the praries... I can offer lots of snow for scenary .. and the ability if your dog runs away to be able to watch him/her for at least 3 days in the horizon...
Seriously though your silver would always find a happy home over here and have lots of friends to play with... feel free to drop me a PM

I had a little chit-chat with the coins. The Peace dollars volunteered first, saying, "Solidarity with our friends to the north!" The Morgans were a bit hesitant: "We don't like the cold so much." The Barbers then chimed in: "We are here to serve, and a few of us like huskies. Maybe we can learn a new sport." I'll work them until they all relent. (PM to follow)

Like some, I have a mixture of seller's and buyer's remorse. Sometimes sad I let go my childhood hot wheels from the 1960's and early 1970's - lots of mint and hard to find cars, plus they were mine. The $2k I sold them for then was good, but I'd rather still have them. Buying, sometimes it's hard to pass on a coin that I know is a great deal, though I already have one in my collection. I know I can resell them, but for the time and effort needed, some self control would be better. I think everyone who's dealt on ebay regularly has been sniped at the end of an auction. Sometimes I'm relieved to have saved hundreds of dollars, and other times it's a let down when I really wanted the coin. But, I always remind myself I didn't lose by $0.01 or $1 or $5, given the buyer probably would have bid a lot higher than the final price.
