One reason I am picking coins like these up. In fact, the 1859-S only had a single die pair and most were melted after an estimated mintage of 80,000. Most surviving examples survive in AG-VF (the majority with problems) and no MS coins are known. PCGS has only graded a total of 76 coins in all grades. NGC, 14.
