Being a retired firefighter, things like this grab my attention. That was one heck of a fire to cause that coin to begin going molten. And to cause the bubbling and everything else. I too would pay over melt for this coin. It is awesome! I have two bills that survived fired, one horse blanket dollar and a small silver cert. This coin would go great with them.

Wow -- well the thing is it still has eye appeal --- well not that kind a different kind. Sort of like full disclosure --- there the political definition like the one the campaign finance reform groups (that inspired McCain-Feingold) advocate for and then's there the other kind that even they would think is going way to far. Yep this Morgan does catch the eye but alas for all the wrong reasons.

It's tough to tell, but it looks like it was probably a pretty high grade before the fire.

I've had a lot of fun fishing it out of my pocket at coin shows, which was my thought when I picked it up in the first place. It is unique if nothing else.

Great coin ...

This is one of those every now and then coins which pique our interest ... amazingly damaged to the point of interest.

Would truly enjoy know the coins provenance.

Back in the 1950`s my Dads restraunt burned down. I was helping clean up and I found a cc mint silver dollar under the counter that looked like yours and we had slot machine that took nickles that you could bet on and I had the melted mass of nickles out of each machine. Lots of buffalos but warped. The bank weighed them and cashed them in
