Why not just send it in as is? I would think most TPGS's would take that stuff off at no extra cost. However, here are some other suggestions: 1. Hold in your hand and hold it outside a moving car window. At about 100 m/hour all the stuff on that coin should vanish. 2. Get in your shower at home and hold the coin while taking a shower. 3. Go to a gas station and use their tire inflator equipment. 4. Carefully wrap that coin and send to me. No I will not fix the problem and send it back to you. 5. I still say just send as is to a TPGS. If they should give you a grade on the dust, hopefully they will not charge for that.

Just rinse it off with either distilled water, acetone or xylene. I rinse EVERY coin I submit. NONE of the TPGs will do anything for you. They take coins "as-is" and slab them unless you request and pay extra for conservation services.

Unless he is way off on what is on the coins, almost sounds like he could just blow on them.

Here's a photo. I just won the auction. Will probably submit it to PCGS as soon as I receive it. You can probably see the dust, hair, and what looks like a piece of spider web hanging from the Y in Liberty to Lincoln's shoulder. I'm totally unsure of what I should do to it before I send it in. Now that I have posted the photos, could you please make some suggestions again. Thanks. Ed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1922-Lincol...p=true&rt=nc

Just rinse it with acetone, no brainer.
Using those pictures, the coin appears to have been cleaned/whizzed and retoned.

Some previous owner did a lot more than remove the dust.

I've seen 1922 no D's in that grade with "details" sell for $2600. If it grades problem free probably 5K+. I paid $1338. No chance of it getting a 'problem-free' grade huh?

That's likely why it sold for $1388.

Hopefully when you get that one it will be better than the photo. Regardless, I feel something is just wrong. IF that coin is as shown, even if cleaned, should be in the 4 to 5 thousand area. Keep us informed of what the TPGS says.
