I have never seen Lincolns in that good of a shape come out of a roll. Great find!

What the... roll searching!? I just graded this in the other forum and all the time I'm thinking you picked this up on the Bay or a show. This would make my week, congrats!

Just think, if you weren't a coin roll hunter you wouldn't of found that penny, the thing would probably get put in a register and given to someone with 2 or 3 other (worthless) pennies and they would go home and forget about them or drop them on the street or throw them in a fountain where they would corrode. Its reasons like that why coin roll hunting is great and finds like yours are my favorite. Good job and thank you for keeping that beautiful penny safe, its retired now too and has made it through 85 years of uncertainty

I hear ya, Normic67. People don't care about pennies; they probably don't even look at them. This little Lincoln could very well have landed up on the street, or in a parking lot, which would have been a shame. If I hadn't gone to the bank when I did, and the teller hadn't given me the exact box it was in, this coin would have, like you said, gone to one of the local stores for their cash register. Kind of makes you wonder what other goodies have slipped out into circulation. I'm really happy that I was able to finally retire this coin. I get a warm, fuzzy feeling all over when I think about it. For me, roll hunting will never get old!
