I for one would definitely be interested in ONE example of that counterfeit for testing purposes. So if you ever want to sell let me know.

I do not collect counterfeits like this normally, but in this case I would really love to know how it was made.

Swamper bob

I don't think I can discuss a sale of the coin over the forum as it is stated in the rules. Also I am so new to collecting I have never sold or bought a coin and am still fumbling with values. Coins are worth what the buyer values them as. I see it's been a coin you have flirted with and has slipped from your grasp in the past. I would hate to disappoint you or break any forum rules since I am new I would hate to lose the communities knowledge and resources. If there are avenues to take that are acceptable to do said things please offer any suggestions. At this time I don't have motivations to sell or risk repercussions of attempting to do so. If you want to inspect/study the coin I could loan it to you for that reason. I too am curious how it was made and how it would be appreciated and valued among those who specialize in counterfeit coinage. Loaning it to you wouldn't break rules or deny you from access. I see you are a part of this community and have a respected reputation by many of its members. I would extend an amount of trust as well for your time to perform your studies and explore its progeny. I am excited to have found a unique oddity and am happy to do what I can to expand the content of it's genus and phylum, if you will.

Appears to be a crude cast copy from the pics posted. If so, unlimited amounts can be readily made from pot metal.

There was an old post similar to this about this fake.
Wish I had one just for the novelty. A member was going to send me one years ago but never did . . . or it got lost in the mail.

To whoever removed my last post. Where in the rules are address and telephone numbers not allowed and why? I could not find that specific rule and only email addresses appear to have a possibly valid reason for being eliminated. So why remove the entire post?

I am not a fan of PC type rules and I do not object to my address or contact information being spread.

Jimbucks You may be correct about the coin being cast but from pictures it is difficult to be positive. It looks like a transfer impression that was overcut to strengthen central details, but how was the initial transfer made? What does the edge look like? Depending on tests XRF may be needed. I would also like to look at any traces of wear it may have indicating the length of circulation.

It has been several years since it was first reported and if many were in circulation I would think other examples would turn up regularly,

The rules have been updated. The intent of the original rule was to avoid both personal information being posted and folks trying to circumvent the rule for buying or selling. Given we are an online forum, the original rule was targeted for email information; but obviously, we needed to be even more specific.

I find it very interesting that censuring a post based on a rule created after the post was written is considered to be correct practice. I absolutely do not agree with that policy.

I am open and honest about who I am and what I do. Anyone who wants my contact information can find it on page two of my book. If you do not own the book go to Amazon and look at the preview for the book.

Geez Bob, it ain't that big of a deal. We don't want people posting personal info all over the place as it can lead to legal ramifications. No, I'm not going to engage in a conversation about that now. Just get over it and move on. People can email you through the forum or you can email them and exchange phone numbers, addresses, or recipes if you want.

I also agree. Nuts ruin the consistency of the brownies.
