It will certainly encourage more bidding on coins. $2.50 shipping for a single coin is kinda high, but $2.50 for 4 coins isn't bad.

Looks like a lot more of this seller's items are going unsold since the change.

What are some of your other small group of sellers? For me I just had Asyn for long time I didn't do The Bay, just him alone...You would think the unsold would have to come back up again some month...

DBM: I think there will be more of that. Some items were pretty good deal with free shipping. I recently picked up one coin from them and then felt I must pick up more to take advantage of the combined shipping.... The other coins I picked up for melt.. but I'm really hoping they're kinda close on their grade for the orginal coin... BAwhahahha ohh who am I kidding... *sigh*

I know the the feeling AgCoinAu, I`ve got two coins won and four more days to find something else I need or at BV to take advantage of the combined shipping just in case.

I've tried selling both ways, shipping in, shipping out. Although I now offer free shipping in Canada, from experience I found that by NOT having shipping included and charging a flat $2 shipping fee, I did better on less expensive coins. Many people bid on the number not the total. Common Canadian silver dollars that average between $16-$21 would be a good example. Saying that, I choose to stay with free domestic shipping since it helps with curtailing the fees on international shipping which represents a chunk of my sales and Canada Post rates are ridiculously expensive.

Wasn't paying attention and didn't realize that asyn doesn't combine shipping anymore. That pumped the bill up a little bit. Whoops!

NO Free shipping..They do offer combined shipping,,discount of 30% for 3 to 8 items. I got scared a little when the one box only had a 1. and on left side $5.95,, for those rolls..Lower down though it does say Yes, Combined shipping...

My last order from ASYN... total cost.... just shy of $500... shipping... $5..
My last TCNC auction..... only one winning bid... initial cost $90... after all fees $130
While without a doubt I'm happier with the quality from TCNC... the mark ups certainly make it difficult at times

Whizb4ng: asyn DOES combine shipping starting with just 3 items and you have 7 days to find more items to be combined.

It is probably because I didn't purchase single coins what I paid for shipping is reasonable since I bought some of the mint product off of him but people should note that not all of his listings offer straight combined shipping rather he offers discounted combined shipping. I didn't phrase myself properly the first time.
For any of his ICCS graded coins he offers a 30% discount on shipping when you buy 3 - 8 items. Say you buy 7 ICCS graded coins which he charges 2.95 shipping the total cost with the 30% discount for shipping is $14.46. I understand that it will cost more for the larger envelope and the extra weight in postage but $14? It won't be sent with tracking because tracking is more expensive than that in Canada. His total shipping cost with the bigger envelope and whatever he uses to secure the coin I am betting will only be ~$5. I don't think he adds insurance.
It is just something I didn't consider when I was bidding so it surprised me. My fault for not reading!

Actually, with the Paypal discounts, shipping by Expedited with tracking to most of Canada is in the range of $9-14.

Oh really? I stand corrected. I haven't done shipping through paypal before I was just going off what my post office lady told me.

He means (I think) when you sell an item, so you can print the discounted Paypal label.
About the shipping costs, he combines all the oversized items so not always are $2.95, some are $3.95 other are like $9.5 so he offers 30% and 50% of the total ... I guess is like an average, sometime it will be better for the buyer, sometimes for asyn.
