This is been a quiet thread, but was thrilled to get a 1918-D cent in change at Burger King drive-thru. (I'd found 3-4 1919s in the last two years in change prior) Condition: VG, pushing F with a strong date and mintmark. Amazingly, my 1970s-begun Lincoln album had that as a hole needing to be filled.

Found a F12 1921 Buffalo nickel in my mother's car cup holder while visiting her a couple of months ago. She had no idea it was special.

About a year or so ago I found an 1864 IHC, my guess is that it came from someones collection and was reintroduced into circulation by a kid or other thief.

I'm old enough to remember when you would regularly find 19th century coins in change. I go back nearly 50 years in collecting so what is now 1965 finds in change would have been 1915 finds in change on a regular basis. Thereby meaning that finding coins from the 1800s was a more regular occurrence than not. It's what fired my collecting habit when I was a young boy.. Thinking of finding coins from another century and all

An 1867 3-cent nickel that the depositor mistook for a dime. This was about a year ago.

Cent - 1879 Indian head and 1910 Wheat
Quarter - 1942
Nickel - 1905 liberty head
Dollar - 1922 Peace dollar

Although I work at a bank, all were circulation minus the dollar that was cashed in for paper money.

My oldest circulation find is a 1909 cent, but when I found it, it was only a 55-year-old coin. A few days ago I found a very attractive 1944 Lincoln, which is, ah, 71 years old.
