Probably the 1965 to 1998 clad Washington quarters. The Mint wrecked Flanagan's depiction of Washington starting in 1999. I still see quite a few of the pre-1999 quarters and keep on spending them. -MV

The people who spent their 1894 S dimes may have some regrets!

1/2p, face value does not justify a great little coin.

Quote: And what about those "Westward Journey" Nickels from 2005? I assume you are talking about the buffali variety. Considering close to 10% of the entire mintages was sold to collectors, and a lot more were hoarded as rolls from the bank, and that most of those are still in MS, I doubt they willl ever be worth much.

I'm not much of a fan of anything minted since the 40's. So other than silver content I don't think I'll regret spending any of it.
I wonder if Ike's really will ever be worth more than just over a buck?
I remember my aunt used to collect "Barr dollar bills" when I was a kid. I don't think those have ever been worth more than a dollar. LOL

I still regret spending all the Ikes my father gave me as a kid, however, and suspect my son will someday regret spending on the SBAs I've given him for allowance, good report cards, etc.

Humm, I have a large horde of coins from the past 50 years and my expectation is that 50 years from now my kids will scratch their heads and say 'What was he thinking?'

I agree, I regret not keeping anything except maybe all the copper pennies. I don't keep them all but do have a cookie tin of them just in case. Of course most people spend wheat pennies without thinking anything of them when dealers will pay 2x face right now for them.

I am regretting already. I cashed in two boxes of pure nickel 5 cent coins. I still have more but need a quick $200

I'm keeping every "gem" example of colourized Canadian quarters that comes my way. I think toonies ($2) will find their way into most collections, it's just a matter of time until they catch on. ;) Silver dollars are pretty huge now, so just imagine what toonies will offer. I hate having to roll up my nickel and copper toonies just to make a $50 bill. Just think how short the run was from 1996-2012, and not all years had circulating toonies.

In fifty years there might be no coins at all, but the mintages are so high I doubt we'll regret spending any.

I've still got the first coins I started collecting with. yes I've seen many, many coins in change I could have, should have, might have saved. But then I'd have to have virtually millions and millions of dollars worth of coins since I'd have saved everyone I ever had.
