It is a devils head note. But this is way over priced.

It's not even graded by a TPG, ...wow!.. what a ridiculous price that is going for.

There is a heavily corroded 1919 large cent with a current bid of $19.00. I would sell every coin I own if I could get prices like that...

Maybe they're laundering funds from the evidence locker.

It's probably uninformed buyers that figure that police auctions are bargain, and that the thief stole a prized collection.

I remember going to the Vancouver auction looking for a used bike back in the 1980's...it was all complete junk. STuff that goes unclaimed and is worthless, especially the abused stereo equipment.....That should be the new ebay marketing tool and seal of approval: "police auction deal"

On the bright side. Buyers from this auction will feel they get real bargains when they buy on The Coin Show.

Looking at the 1919 cent Wade posted, it's got a ton of corrosion. I wouldn't even keep that in my collection if it were free. Same with the twenty dollar bill that started this thread. Creased bills are not an option for me. Devil's face or not, creased bills are for spending.
