I don't know. I'm no expert on ancients, but I really think it's fake. But like I said, I'm no expert.

I voted not real because the diadem looks a bit off in style. I also don`t think there is a difference between not real and modern copy, because they are pretty much the same.

I voted not real. Looks like a fake patina or a patina made from unnatural means. The coin just doesn't look right. I don't like the color of the metal either. But I could be wrong....

I voted "not real", but not because I would think this coin is not real. If someone asks a question that seems to have an obvious answer (it's real...a common lrb, why fake it?), the opposite is usually true, or they wouldn't have asked. of course, if you can produce it for 2 bucks, and sell it for 4 bucks....it can be worth making a fake. I eagerly await the answer!
the only thing that would shock me would be the "ancient forgery".

Real and Ancient. The patina is typical and the amount of detail is not unheard of. Looks good to me.

It's genuine, I think most knew that anyway but I made them unsure by asking the question in the first place. It's one from a lot of 150 coins that have just been sold, they went for 7 GBP a coin for the lot and they are all superb coins. Quote:

By modern copy, I mean a new coin made to fool collectors. By not real, I mean stuff made by places such as Westair Reproductions Limited. I found it interesting that 10 votes went for not genuine. This coin, in my opinion, is clearly a nice, genuine, of the period coin. Just shows how a strange question can alter the opinion of folk.
You will never soar like an eagle if you hang around with turkeys.....
