I pull more wheat cents than anything else, but I will save anything good and silver etc. I save Ike dollars when I get them, now they just come in dribbles and not downpours. |

I am OCD when it comes to checking the change I receive, I put new change received in one pocket and "checked change"(spendable LOL)in another. Since I live in Canada it's difficult to find a lot of US coinage in change but I do find wheaties often enough (nice 1947s the other day)Not only do I check my change...but also anyone who enters my home  |

Pulled a Jefferson: 1997 S proof from change Sunday at the $1 store.
So, what do you do then?
I asked for change for another quarter.
No more better nickels, tho.

In the past three weeks I have retired 3 Wheats from circulation, the oldest a 1942, then a 1952-D and today a 1957-D. Also retired a nice Panamanian 1¢ from 1968.

I started pulling coins from circulation about 20 years ago, and I will probably do so forever. I find less pre 1950 coins, maybe every other week I come across a wheat.

I think it's safe to say I look at every single coin in my pocket before thinking about spending it. It's a different story with paper money. I seldom ever pay attention.

Dealers here are selling wheaties more than face value,if buyers can find some maximum of 50 cents each 2007 cents downwards.

I've started pulling the State Quarters (even though I'm not a particular fan of them) only because I found I had a Whitman folder for them from somewhere  |

I never spend change. For many years now I have just put the change in jugs and am just now going through them. May not get through them all before I die, but at least I can say having fun saving and going through them. And of course alot more pennies than anything.

i pull alot of wheaties from change I think this year so far I pulled around $7.00 face value worth of wheaties with one no date IHC and an 25% off center! |

I'm always watching for wheats, easy to spot. I also check all coins I have for old dates and silver. The sound of a silver coin is unmistakable, I can spot it almost immediately by sound alone.
OH...I picked up a nice 1940 Jeff nickel just a couple of days ago! I was amazed!

I voted for State Quarters, but I notice anything different and take them out. Even if it's just a shiny new penny. I've even been able to tell from across the break room that someone had a silver quarter and stop them from putting it in the drink machine. Fatcat |
