Current melt price is $575.48. At $700 you are paying $28 each set, and on ebay they generally sell for around $30. You're getting a price right around retail. |

In 50 years they will be worth less or the same.
If you are collecting fine....why not buy something interesting?...and research it before you spend money?

How will it be worth less or the same in 50 years? I doubt silver will be sitting at $22.50 CDN in 2064, inflation or not.

I guess I'm on the other side of the fence on this one... you're paying full retail for a large number of sets...
I think at the start of the negotiations I would be starting my offer to buy at around 10% below melt...
But that's just me..I suppose it depends on how much you want 'em..

i would walk, even though it's uncirculated, its still classified as junk silver.
If you're collecting it for the coin and not the silver, then to each their own, but I would walk

if they are years like 61 or 62 or 63, I would buy them. You can sell those sets for 40 bucks. but anything after that I would not buy it. I can go down to the LCS and get the sets for 24 bucks........walk IMO

no,at the recent coin show here in Vancouver, more than one dealer was selling these for $24.50 each,....25 x $24.50 = $612.50...any cameo coins would have been picked over years ago.

I would offer $600 for the sets.
Silver will definitely be worth more than $22.00 an ounce in the future. Silver was worth about $1.00 an ounce 50 years ago.
Silver has see a decline in demand with the introduction of digital photography and the death of the film photography industry (a major user of silver).
But with the industrial uses of silver increasing rapidly (e.g. electronics industry), I would not be surprised to see silver at least $200 an ounce in 50 years.

I would say offer $650 for them. If not $700 is still a good price to me...

1945V: That's speculating on a commodity in the future... one should never overpay current trend prices on the speculation of what may happen 20 years later....
If you're buying this for strictly silver content.. try to get as close to current spot price as possible...

If you are buying these for a collection, why would you want 25 sets? Wouldn't one of each be enough? If you are buying them to resell, the economics don't make sense (or in this case may only make cents.) If you are buying them for their silver content, why not just buy junk silver? If you are buying them to sit on them for fifty years, how old will you be in 2064? Will you even be able to find them at that age?
Just asking.
