1906 25c small crown <G (way too many junk silver finds for $1100)
1914 5c MS-65+ (hoard hasn't affected trends)

Most definitely high grade 1914 5 cents. The it went from one of the rarest in high grade, to one of the most common. Based on PCGS pop report data. Yet the trends price hasn't budged.

All of the newly discovered P non magnetic cents. Some early buyers will be sorry.

UGH I'm seconding both 26 Far 6 and 25 nickel. I kid you not, I have purchased about 15 25 nickels this year, 5-6 in the last month!

I'm beginning to think the low mintage was falsified and they've actually been hoarded in people's basements in the Ottawa area for the last 90 years.

Most have mentioned all that are already on my 'meh' list. But, as of this morning... I now feel that the 1932 'Far 2' Nickel may, in fact, not even be a black and white variety at all. And certainly not anywhere near the premiums being suggested via online guides.

I have heard (via the other thread) that the Charleton will be listing it as a variety next year; but I think this is merely the Charleton doing what they do... which is sell books.

I posed a question (https://goccf.com/t/180753) and the knitted sweater just started unraveling.

So I think if there's going to be a variety listed with this coin it should now be: The 'Sorta Far 2', 'Farther 2' or 'Nearerish 2' and 'Nearest 2'. haha

24hrs. One post. It all comes crashing down. lol

The 2005p penny. I remember it was a big deal but I have plenty of them now. Even the 2006 no p magnetic seems to be dropping in value.

Some of the one ounce "maple leaf" silver bullion issues from the early to mid-2000's seem to be selling on ebay for, like, three times their Krause "book" value. Granted, the mintages aren't huge, but they're not tiny, either. I'd think there's a distinct possibility that current buyers at those price points are going to come up losers unless silver itself takes a big jump up.

Doesn't something have to be overrated to be overrated?

Certainly one could argue overpriced. But, most of the talk on here has always downplayed it.

Over rated: 2000P 10 cent. Under rated: PL coins with ultra heavy cameo contrast, particularly nickel coins.

1858 large cent. 1891 large cent varieties. All very common and overpriced.

6 years after my original reply to this thread I gotta agree about the 48 dollar, 1858 penny, and 1891 penny, and the 26 nickel. I remember seeing a whole role of 1858 pennies on here years ago.

I gotta agree with the '48 dollar and the 1858 cent (any coin show has a plethora of them both). As a collector of Vicky cent varieties, there are a number of 1859/8 types that are much much scarcer than the 1858's. And the '91 Obv 2's are a little overpriced, but not like the Obv 3's. I can't comment on the '26 5 cent.

Of the coins I got for the my small and large cent, the 1891 Small Leaves and a few of the small cent varieties I just skipped. The 1891 Small Leaves, I decided to just skip. Can't see it being worth so much more than the 1891 large leaves. I picked up the 1858 for a fair price, so I don't agree that one is over valued.

The 1999 P small cent I think was a very good priced considering there are only ~ 20000.
