Quote: This sounds like one of those"show us your silver stack' & where you hide it". Quote: Note to those overly interested in my collection. Quote: To be honest this thread is kinda pointless since posting the value of your collection online honestly is not safe and anyone smart will either write an incorrect answer or not answer at all. Quote: I just can't see advertising on line anything that could end up being a problem. I too would think that many replies are either just fakes or not necessarily honest. Seriously ........ just a fun little thread for those of us not overly paranoid about our collections, to compare (and brag) about our collections So if you're not going to participate fine, but why comment then ? So if you don't want to participate, like Bacchus said, Quote: Nothing to see here ..... move along .....

Yea as a new person here, it's kind of discouraging seeing all these people unnecessarily posting. First, if you don't want to post your collections value( for god knows what reason) DONT POST IN HERE. It's quite ignorant.
There is no way shape or form that saying how much silver you have stacked on this public forum would result in any foul play. It's pretty ridiculous some of you all's responses, all you have done is ruin a perfectly fun thread.
Now, to be ON TOPIC, and not a spamming troll. I would say my silver collection isn't anywhere over $500 :( I'm working on it though!

I'd say under $10,000 as most of the coins I own are copper or silver. I own less than a dozen gold coins and none with a face value greater than $5 (no eagles, double eagles, or bullion)

Even though I have spent 6 figures on my collection. Right now its worth absolutely nothing in dollar terms. The only time it will be worth something, IMHO, is the day I sell it!

Quote: To be honest this thread is kinda pointless since posting the value of your collection online honestly is not safe and anyone smart will either write an incorrect answer or not answer at all. Of course since there is no way to link the posting of a specific person to a specific collection value no one will know what YOUR collection is worth unless you then post the amount in the thread with your name attached. Which basically none of us are doing. I answered the poll (honestly I think), but can anyone prove what value level I chose?

I was more interested in seeing how CCF was diversified as a whole. The poll is anonymous. Thanks for voting. Sorry I didn't make options for $5000, $2500, and under $1000. My Bust!

I have 35 Excel spreadsheets (of the most valuable coin types I collect) detailing what I paid, when I paid it, where the coin came from and what I estimate its worth. There's a date assigned to each estimate so anyone interested (ancestors, etc.) can extrapolate a current worth. I also keep receipts of each sale for the coin's provenance. It's a little OCD but hopefully, it will help anyone in the future interested in the worth of my collection.

Going by the lowball estimates of grade I put on my coins it's pretty safe to say its south of 10K. Then again, I have a few moderns that might get ridiculous high grades from a TPG and could end up being valued quite a bit higher. But I generally hate slabs, so I'm sticking with my lowball grades...

I keep all of the Krause values in an Excel spreadsheet with other vital info per coin to keep a rough estimate. While I'm personally impressed with my rough valuation, it doesn't come close to departing the first category.
