Failure? I think you might need to join up to the big Facebook auction sites. They seem to be dominating the auctions and I reckon you would fall over when you see the price the items are really selling for.

Well Tella I wouldn't say APCGS slabs are dominating the facebook page , there's over 120+ items up for auction atm and I reckon there's only 7 apcgs slabs ,most is low valued stuff under $50

Quote:aust ebay listings as of 29/1/15 PCGS AROUND 1500 , Apcgs around 40 , that to me is undisputed failure to get a foot hold in the market , time to pack up and go away The main reason APCGs will never "Fly" is because of the totally disastrous start they made with there total lack of understanding on the Sheldon grades. They have lifted their game over the last few months but they are still and always will be the "Black and Gold" option. They are still overgrading and not picking up "Details" coins, They have however finally worked out that there is NO MS45 tho Another worrying point is that the name of the company is SOOO similar to one of the best /if not the best grading company's name that when people realise that they have paid far too much for an overgraded/badly attributed coin they will assume that PCGS coins are tarnished with the same brush. This can only build contempt and distrust of graded coins in Australia at the end of the day. There are quite a few dealers/Sellers that are fully aware of the fact that the coins they submit to APCGS are badly graded and are taking advantage of that to dupe the ill informed, This can only spell disaster for the market. I DO hope that we eventually do get a reliable and accurate grading company established in the country eventually But not this one. I would prefer a Gold and Gold Company to a Black and Gold company any day.

What sort of warranty does APCGS offer ? Anyone who thinks APCGS is legitimate is a fool.
Fraudulent sellers will always send rubbish coins to such "graders". And guess what - it comes back MS ! How good is that.

The Market for slabbed/Graded Coins in Australia is based on PCGS, NGC and ICCS graded coins because of the reliability and consistent accuracy that these companies provide. Not only do these companies offer Solid guarantees but when I buy a coin graded by them I Know exactly what I am paying for. If you look at the listings on ebay for APCGS coins you will see that the prices asked for these coins are based upon the valuations earned by PCGS,NGC and ICCS graded coins, This is where APCGS coins start to Muddy the Waters. Take a GOOD look at some of the sellers that use this company and you will quickly see that they in fact Know that they are offering an Inferior product at inflated values. This suits these types of sellers perfectly because they know that there are plenty of “Muppets” out there they can fleece because the product “Looks” Kosher. NOW, Have a look at what the Mainstream Australian dealers and Sellers are offering and you wont see any APCGS graded coins being sold by any one of them. Lets face it these Guys and Gals know that they stay in business purely upon their reputation and that is why they don't sell or use APCGS products. APCGS Is a cheaper option and the turnaround IS faster than the US based grading companies, But from what I have seen the product is vastly inferior. The old saying “you get exactly what you are paying for” comes into play here. Do as you wish its Your money, But personally I wouldn't touch APCGS with a pointed stick

Let me put on my moderator hat for a moment. I've had to delete a couple of posts on the previous page that had definitely crossed the line into personal attacks and other unacceptable behaviour. Attack the ideas, not the person. It's perfectly OK to say "APCGS are stupid for grading that coin that way". It's not OK to say "You're stupid for agreeing with them".Now, let me remind everyone, once again, of the history between APCGS and this forum. They first joined the forum on 24th November 2011 under the username investego, in order to spam their new grading service. We treated them like any other spammer; we deleted their spam and locked their account. So they rejoined the forum, using the usernames apcgs (4th December 2011) and Aussiegrading (12th December 2011). This time the spamming was a little subtler, so it took a while for the mods to notice and delete their accounts. Spammers get very, very short leashes around here, and no second chances unless there are very unusual circumstances. Especially when, instead of e-mailing us and saying "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to break the rules, I won't do it again" they just rejoined and kept right on spamming. The only reason - the only reason - that APCGS was not added to the forum's blacklist of Websites That May Never Be Mentioned is for educational purposes, so that newbies could be made aware of the unethical and deceptive nature of this "company". As I've said elsewhere in discussions about them, I'm always happy to give someone the Aussie "fair go" treatment. But I want to see a bit of repentance first. A year ago, I asked for it from the owners of APCGS. I'm still waiting for my e-mail.
