quote: Certainly do agree with SeatedNut. I posted this pic from my collection once before so sincerely hope it's not too redundant & doesn't bore

quote: This is an area of collecting that has caught my favor. I think that Indian is saying halt to Europe and immigration.
And 100 years from now, there will be one of the Caucasian man holding his hand out to stop hispanic immigration..... Funny how history repeats itself.... MM

By far an away one of my favorites! I would however have to add the Stn. Mtn commem to the list. Heck, I like the coin's design and it's helped by the fact that I live there and walk around it's base every weekend!

The both look good, but I like the San Diego design much better. A lot of the commemoratives are attractive, the mint should take some cues from them.

My list would be as follows: 1.Pan Pac half 2.San Diego 3.Oregon 4.Texas Sadly, of that list, I only have the Pan Pac. But at least I have my #1. I've been in love with the Pan Pac half since I first saw a pic of one when I was 9 years old.

Terror, at least you got the expensive one first. I love commems. If you study them then look at todays offerings of the president coins, etc. you will want to start adding commemoratives to your collection. I just don't understand why they have become cheaper over the years. I guess they are just out of favor now, but I am not complaining as I just started to collect them so the cheaper the better for me. I have a San Diego, Oregon Trail, Boone and a Pilgrim and looking for more.

I'm with you on the cheaper the better small change. I love commems myself, and I've lately decided that my Pan Pac needs some friends. I'm working on building a circulated set actually, grades from Poor 1 up to VF30 ( the grade of my Pan Pac ), and I've actually gotten quite a few interesting pieces as of late, and for LOW prices. I'm loving it, great coins, with interesting stories, great designs and easy on the bank account.
