Very nice first bust half! My first (and still my first and only) bust half is VF, so yours is a great place to start.

Stuck between 45 and 50. So I'll say 45.

Thanks for the grades, everyone! (this coin was advertised on Joel Rettew's site as VF-35)

I'll doubt I will be able to take much better pictures, but I will do my best. This and the other coins I got on the same order have been in town since Thursday, except I wasn't at home to sign for the package when the mailman arrived on Thursday. :(

Couldn't go to the post office to pick it up on Friday, since they were closed for Independence Day

Went to the post office this morning to pick it up only to find out that they had already closed! (apparently they're only open 2 hours from 7:30-9:30am on Saturdays. Ridiculous!)

The post office is closed on Sunday of course, so it will be Monday at earliest before I can get my hands on it. The wait is killing me!

Long story short, I ordered this and a couple other coins from http://www.fastcoin.com. When my order arrived a few days later, 2 of the coins were the ones I ordered, but the third one, the one featured in this topic, was in fact a different 1831 CBH, and much lower grade to boot. I contacted them about it immediately and received a prompt response acknowledging their mistake. They told me they would send a return label for the erroneously received coin, and I presume the correct coin would be sent to me upon their receipt of my return.

One week after that, I still hadn't received the return label they said they'd send me. I received another e-mail from them asking if I had received it yet, and if not, that they would send another. I replied that I had not received their return label, and I haven't heard back since. That was 10 days ago. I sent another e-mail this morning inquiring what the hold-up might be, but like before, still no reply.

I go back to their site today to discover it has been completely reformatted, and the inventory completely overhauled; everything was changed. Most discomforting though, was that when I tried to log in, it said that my e-mail was not in their database; my account (and presumably my order info as well) has simply disappeared from their website! I'll give them the benefit of a doubt that this might have been due to complications from the site overhaul, though.

I understand that the owner of the site, Joel Rettew, is a well established and highly respected dealer. I'm still hoping this problem can be resolved in a satisfactory manner.

Well, so much for keeping it short. I was considering making a separate topic about this issue so I can get the opinions of a wider audience, but I'll give it some time to see if they pick up communication again.

Did you pay with a credit card and/or paypal? File a chargeback ASAP. That will get them off their butts and get matters resolved quicker... or get you refunded in full.
