Holy Cow, this is not what I expected to see when I opened this thread. A true Superb Gem, and I'm not attempting a grade until I can see it on a 27" monitor instead of a smartphone. What a tremendous coin.

My first thoughts were what a pretty coin. My 2nd thought was WOW. I don't like to grade coins from pics but that one is a looker. Congrats.

MS68 is my guess. I've owned a few MS67 Morgans and none were as nice as that coin.

Definitely NOT MS-66 in my opinion. I see no marks, scuffs, gouges, scratches... By all means, MS-68, possible PL depending on the reflectiveness. If my grading is accurate and this is a 68, this is well over a 5k coin!

Wowzers!

I plan to own a coin like this someday.. I'm sure you're proud!

I think it's possibly sitting in a MS66 holder, if I'm right, this is a great example of an under-graded coin, I see no reason this coin should not be MS67+ or even MS68, not a mark on it I can tell from these photos. With photos twice as big or more, it would be an easier call to make via computer screen.

My grade? MS67+ at least or you've either been robbed by a TPG if any less, or JRG just made the buy of the month with huge potential upside! I'm not calling it MS68 due to the strike being just a touch weaker than I'd like to see on a MS68 slab from PCGS, though the lofty MS68 grade is quite possible on this Morgan, I think.

MS-67 at the very least, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it is MS-68. Simply beautiful. I am at a loss of words.

Still astonishing on my big monitor, but the images are too small to attempt the fine differentiations between the highest MS grades. I'd be floored if this weren't at least an MS67, though, and 68 wouldn't surprise me.

1880-S is probably the single best issue if you want a true high-grade Morgan. For some reason, a large number of them survived in Superb Gem condition - PCGA has close to 200 MS68's.

No matter what else can be said about the grade, it is just one heck of a fantastic strike, especially the obverse!!
