I might, I have not seen the UNC version yet though. BUT, if I can get it at the right price then YES! I picked this up for $26.00 U.S.

I really like this coin.

I think you got a deal on this for $26

I bought this in 2007 from the Mint for $35.

A side note, the proof dollar actually had a lower mintage than the uncirculated one.

Actually, the Proof silver dollar sold over 260,000 units while the Uncirculated version sold about 81,000 - a roughly 3:1 ratio Proof over Unc.

Wow! I have only been collecting for 6 months and I really think this is an amazing piece! This may sound silly and I apologize, But I'm assuming it's made out of silver? Do you guys think they are worth investing in? I really like the 'jamestown anniversary' setting, I also would have bought this one, as well.
I apologize for the silly questions I am still trying to learn everything I can.

Thanks, Trevor.

@TellerTreasures: If you like the design of the coin and are not looking for "instant" resale profits from it, then "Yes!" the coin is worth investing in.

It is a very attractive coin from the modern US commemorative series and it appears you already have a connection to its subject matter. It sounds like a great coin for you to add to your collection.

Just FYI, the US Mint also struck a gold $5.00 coin as part of its 2006 Jamestown commemorative program. Here are pictures of it (from the US Mint web site):

First, NOT a silly question.

Yes, it is the Silver Proof.

The price was only a secondary thought when I bought this coin and I really didn't look up the value prior to getting it. Other then the fact that is was not to much over spot and I just Fell in love with it and grabbed it. It also came with the COA and presentation box.

Not the best way to get a coin but after doing that and looking up the coin I'm glad I did.

I Love the piece. It is my FIRST Commemorative piece.

I WILL be doing my home work PRIOR to buying any more though. I got lucky on this one but don't want to 'get taken' with another.

After doing some research I think the Modern Commemoratives are slightly overlooked by collectors today. I could be wrong, but that's just my impression.

I for one, will be getting more!

Dar

I won a Jamestown silver UNC for $21 with OGP on ebay yesterday. I cannot believe I got this deal. My max bid was $23, so I was thinking I'd be out bid and I wasn't.

Great Deal !

I will have to keep an eye out for that one to go along side this one.

Can you post a picture of it when you get it? I would love to see it.

I like historical commemoratives like this, and the design on this coin is really good. I plan on getting this in the next few months. Glad to see there are some good deals to be had on them, I will be hunting on ebay for them!!
